ok, it seems there has been a complete misunderstanding, maybe i didnt explain the problem clearly initially.. here is how i stand. we had the problem with our boiler as i originally posted, so i thought its probably a good time to get signed up with npowers hometeam service at the same time...

As It was suggested by npower engineer that PCB/thermistor were causing the problem. I had the THERMISTOR changed for 40 quid. Unfortunately this hasn't sorted it! So I'm wondering if the PCB needs changing. Which is where u guys come in :)

update:my local engineer suggested we just change the thermistor initially and 'see how it goes' he fitted this, and worked fine when he was here, been a day now and the same symptoms exist. i dont want to change the pcb to find that this also hasnt resolved the problem. do you think...

i knew there was a fault, which is why i took out cover from npower, thinking they could fix whatever the problem was and from then on cover me via their hometeam service. the engineer was sent by npower. im not sure what im missing, but i cant see me doing anything incorrectly. i was trying...

this was now looked at by an engineer. he has suggested that the pcb & thermistor needs replacing and has quoted £280 for the job. just wanted a second opinion if this was a fair price for this job? thanks.

Yep, he checked for that. It was getting power ok. Was going to explore the option of disconnecting the timer. I was hoping that I could get hold of a timer though first. Thanks.

We have had our lofra multifunction oven for 4 years. its a dual fuel cooker i.e. gas hob and oven is electric. the problem is, the main oven has stopped working i.e. nothing comes on... the lights or the oven itself, the smaller oven on top works fine, just the bigger main oven, not getting...

i cant seem to find the timer mechanism :(, pulling on the timer knob just pulls of the nob, and pushing it does nothing. having said that, im puzzled by the fact that if it was a timer issue then surely the top oven/grill-smaller one would not work? currently, the timer function does not...
