    continuously getting air in system

I am not heating engineer or a plumber but i do look into this forum often. May I suggest that if the pump is quite powerful and does suck a lot but the water in the F&E may not be enough and it empties fast enough. As the F&E tank may not filling that fast and air could be sucked in...

Advice on re-filling the open vent system to avoid air lock

The main supply to the timer, valves, pump and boiler comes from the same source after the fused switch. Only supply for the timer is taken to the timer with a separate cable and to the terminal block serparately. The fused switch does switch off every thing if required.

Pump signal switch off when the boiler switches off

This was a "Y-Plan" system before with the mid-position valve. I had a lot of problems and I converted to "S-Plan" about couple of years ago. Since then it has been performing very well. It is too late to contact the heating engineer now after 6 years. I have to think of cabling the...

Pump signal switch off when the boiler switches off

At my home heating system, the pump signal is picked up from the same point as boiler. That means the pump is switched off at the same time the boiler is switched off. The boiler was installed by an heating engineer about 6 years ago. It is not connected to "over run signal from the...

If I have 2 x 2 port valves, means one for heating and other for hot water, must I have a by pass valve? otherwise when both heating and hot water valves as shut, there will not be any path for the water to flow. This pumped water then should flow through the by pass valve that should be open...

Open Vent certral heating system with no vent pipe

As you mentioned thorn appolo 15/30si that reminds me the boiler that was replaced was indeed thorn appolo 15/30 si. This also vindicates the reason that there was no vent pipe. But as now I have got vaillant and the manual mention a vent pipe: Should I put one or leave it as it is? This...
