    Earth leakage testing

Cheers guys, All sorted now, trial and error as it happens, gave my dog a real shock in the process but worth it in the end as the wife can do my washing now. I'd have asked the guy from my wife's work to help but he's a boring pr**k, much more fun getting advice. Mark

Guys, I wonder if any of you could offer me some advice? My module has failed in my Hotpoint WML760 so I've sourced a reconditioned on. With the board came a note suggesting I check the motor for earth leakage. I've managed to borrow a Metrel Easitest from my wife's work but need advice...

Many thanks to all you guys. Just to clarify would you therefore suggest that a fused switch is ample for my needs? Mark

RCD Spur tripping consumer unit RCD when pressing 'test'

Thanks for the advice. Possibly as simple as that too!!! With an RCD on my consumer unit does that mean I can just use a fused switch instead and still have the protection I want? Out of curiosity, if I plug an extension lead with an RCD plug into a plug socket and press the test button...

RCD Spur tripping consumer unit RCD when pressing 'test'

Hi guys, I wonder if any of you could give me a little advice, I've installed an IP66 rated socket in an outhouse adjoining my house. This is fed from a Safetysure RCD spur, wired as a spur from a double socket next to it. When I turned my electric back on at the consumer unit the external...

Potterton Suprima 100, new cylinder and lots of issues!

Guys, Many thanks for all your advice, the bypass had crossed my mind however I thought I'd tested this theory by putting one of the motorised valves into it's manual position and letting the system run, the lockout occurred again so didn't think that this was an issue, I also reinstalled the...

Potterton Suprima 100, new cylinder and lots of issues!

Sorry, That should have been both indirect. Obviously didn't proof read as well as I'd thought. Tapping size is 1", not sure about the coil but can get info from the new cylinder and cut open the old one, I doubt it's related though as the fault occurs when there is no demand for hot...

Am I right in thinking that I could get a normal Magnaclean and put it inline with one of the hoses from my CF90? Mark

Powerflushing, advice on add-ons for a KAMCO needed!

Guys, Have a Kamco CF90 which is great however I've noticed that there are a couple of attachements that might be worth adding! I'm looking at the Combimag and also the Radhammer, I did have a similar attachement for my SDS but this went walkabouts earlier this year. What I'd like to...

Lukewarm radiators and a Glow Worm boiler

From what I see the boiler should operate correctly under these conditions, this implies it might be one of the thermistors or the pcb, please don't quote me on that though but it might give you something to look at. Mark
