replacing Salus wireless thermostat and receiver with a Honeywell - wiring

Thanks. That's great. Yeah, the brown tape on the green/yellow was not my doing. So it sounds like I should do this (picture of the receiver from this video): (labels show what they are connected to currently on the Salus)

replacing Salus wireless thermostat and receiver with a Honeywell - wiring

Hello, I am looking to replace a Salus RT500RF wireless thermostat with a Honeywell T3R. This is what the wiring looks like on the Salus receiver: How would I wire this to the Honeywell? The examples I've seen online have two flexes from the boiler but as you can see I only have one...

    removing tap gland/valve

Thanks for the explanation. While I had the valves out I went ahead and took them apart and gave them a clean (lots of videos on YouTube) and put them back. The dripping has significantly reduced so maybe I don't need to replace just now. But this will be very helpful if I do have to.

    removing tap gland/valve

Thanks. Yes, the reducer (thanks for the name) has a thread on the inside. It matches up with the thread you can see on the hot side, just below the o-ring and above the ceramic seal. I'll see if I can find my vice grips and give those a go. Bit worried about busting the thread on the...

    removing tap gland/valve

I am trying to replace the ceramic gland on my kitchen mixer tap. I can get the one off the hot tap fine. But when I take the cold one off the bit that the gland sits in (sorry, don't know the name) unscrews as well. I can't get the gland itself off the other bit, or vice versa. I've...

New fence professionally installed just not right....help

Have you had a good look around the base of the posts? I'm wondering if he really has put dry mix (ballast and cement) in there. What's in there at the minute might have a bearing on how you try to solve this. As Andy says some pictures would help including pictures of the base of the posts...

    Leak inside uPVC door

Yes, water is weeping out the front via the drains. I'll explore those screw holes a bit further. If water is getting through there, could that be finding it's way back into the house, or would it just seep through the front as from the drains?

    Ideas for lawn edging

A raised edge can mean you end up needing to get a trimmer out to tidy up each time you cut the grass. If you fit a solid edge (like bricks) the same height as the lawn, or a tad lower, you can run your mower onto it. Then the only edging you need to do is maybe an annual tidy-up to stop any...

    Leak inside uPVC door

A bit more information, as it's pouring down here. There is some moisture visible along the length of the topmost join shown with the red arrow on the first picture above. There is no sign of moisture (yet) on the lower join. I've opened the door to have a look at the sill, and there's a bit of...

    Leak inside uPVC door

Yes, as I expected it all looks well sealed. The only bit that looks slightly questionable perhaps is right at one end, but I don't think that could explain the water pretty much along the length of the door and on the skirting at the other side.

    Leak inside uPVC door

Thanks. I think the join between the concrete sill and uPVC frame is already pretty well filled up with sealant, but I'll check next time I see it in daylight.

    Leak inside uPVC door

Hello all, I've discovered a small leak at the bottom of a uPVC door. Here's a view of the inside (please excuse the state of the paintwork etc.:all part of the work in progress). Since taking up the carpet I've noticed a small but annoying amount of water collecting along the join between the...

    screw length for handrail

I'm asking this as I tend to over-engineer such things. I have a handrail to fix to a wall with these brackets: http://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Chrome-Effect-Handrail-Bracket/p/165491. I don't think the holes in the brackets will take more than a 4 mm screw. The walls are brick, with dot and...

replacement keyless chuck for hammer drill

Funnily enough, I managed to get it off without any bother. Interesting suggestion about buying the drill rather than the chuck. Wouldn't have thought of that.
