If you disconnect the drain pump and check water has not got past the impeller into the internal parts of the pump.
Or I have found a silted up bottle half way along the drain pipe attached to the back of the cabinet if you disconnect it and give it a good clean it could be the problem
If you look right by the door lock (on the door itself) there should be something like SGS352GB/01 etched into the metalwork this is the model number
If there is water out of the feed pipe then possibly a problem with the inlet valve it is right at the back and can usually be accessed...
If there is a speed control board in the bottom right hand side try to disconnect it and have a good look I have often found a small dry joint on the board and been able to put a dot of solder on the joint and it has come back to life - i would reccomend anyone to change brushes as soon as it is...
I am not 100% about the lights flashing generally the vertical lights flashing denote an error code (but all of the lights flashing is not one)
With the machine going for hours that was likely an out of balance load - it can occur when too much is in the machine and knotted up or if single...

On the iso switch gaps around the edge and 1mm copper showing ?
Do you have to ring the dno to sort it ?
Problems with...
in my experiance these types of elements dont fail often - if you have a meter you can check the resistance of it - should be around 30 Ohms and an insulation test should be 1000mOhms ( although anything over 1m Ohms is acceptable)
The appliance could have a blockage in the machine - usually on the side of the machine you have a water metering tank it can get crap backfilling into the tank and causes the machine to overfill this can leak into the base and cause the float device to activate and the machine then goes into a...
A bit of time to dry out might do the trick -- Id recommend you check the filter monthly and carry out a 90 degree wash 4-6 monthly just to get rid of any excess soap from the machine and stop it smelling
