    Electric socket under sink

This is my question. Is it not safe/not to regulations? The builders have installed it this way and I'm not sure whether this is correct/safe or not and I'm checking in case I need to change it. I do not want to compromise on safety!!!!!

    Electric socket under sink

Not sure how to upload photo? It is a normal socket with 2 plugs and 2 switches - no different to sockets above the worksurface (except it isn't mounted into the wall) it has the dishwasher plugged in and the waste disposal. To switch waste disposal on I have to flick the switch and then...

    Electric socket under sink

i have an electric socket under the sink for my dishwasher and waste disposal. My question is are you supposed to have a separate switch to turn the waste disposal on or is it Ok to switch it on/off directly with the plug switch. The sink is on an island and I don't want the switch to be on...

    Incorrect Boiler Size

Thanks! Cavity is not filled, loft is not to building regs (long story), no it isn't a combi. We have 3, 6 panel large bay windows, largish windows elsewhere and in the extension 2 walls are windows/bi-fold door. Does any of this make any considerable difference?

    Incorrect Boiler Size

New boiler was only fitted in June so it hasn't been running long but put it on in June in the evening and it still felt cold - bearing in mind the guy who installed it told me it would heat next doors house too (and we are detatched) I expected to really feel it! The radiators that were...

    Incorrect Boiler Size

Found some plans! Length is 9.17 metres, width is 9.75 metres. Then there is an extension which is 3 metres long and 4 metres wide. We are on 2 floors and then we have a loft conversion too. Thanks once again!

    Incorrect Boiler Size

A potterton but I don't know the model. I now have an alpha 24. House was cold before and is still cold downstairs. We have 2 bathrooms with baths and 1 shower (large tank). Like I said, I know nothing about plumbing.

    Incorrect Boiler Size

I'll measure the outside of the house in the morning and will post then. In answer to why I am moaning..... because I have been ripped off by two blokes who have done just about everything wrong in a 3 x 4 metre extension and kitchen fitted. I have paid way over the top to somebody that came...

    Incorrect Boiler Size

I'm lost now! 31.6 kw is within the capabilities of a 24kw boiler?

    Incorrect Boiler Size

So the loft (which doesn't currently have a radiator but we lose heat to) should not be included? We have had underfloor heating put into the kitchen but have wooden floors and have just found out that this will not heat the room but will just take the coldness out of the floor. We will now...

    Incorrect Boiler Size

I had a couple of radiators changed at the same time and the others checked that they are the right size. Not sure of the size of the boiler before but think it was the same size but downstairs of our house was never warm enough. The mears shows a BTU of 108,000 - I need clarification...

    Drainpipe onto flat roof

Thanks for your reply. It would be easy to add a piece of extension pipe to the guttering - just didn't know whether there was a reason for not doing this? Thanks again!

    Incorrect Boiler Size

I have recently, as part of an extension build, had a new boiler installed. I have since been told by another plumber that the boiler is too small. It is a 24kw and his workings mean we need a 30kw. It is a condenser boiler. He used the mears calculator. (It is a 4 bedroomed detatched 1930s...

    Drainpipe onto flat roof

I have recently had a small (3 x 4 metres) extension built. It has a flat roof which is higher at one end than the other to allow for drainage. I noticed yesterday that the drainpipe from the roof of the main house finishes on the flat roof, meaning that the water from the main roof will end...
