    Electrician put sockets in wrong places!

    ... too low! Totally ignored what I've drawn on the walls! While I was talking to him, agreed to everything, I happily went to work, and only noticed after they went away. So the sockets are too low - by 4 inches, and one by about 20 inches. They are coming back tomorrow as there are lots more...

    How to cut worktop lengthwise?

    Thought I get one of those Ikea Lagan 2.8 cm worktops, cut in half and end up with about 5 m of shelving. Wonder now how/where to cut it?? Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Tiled floor - insulation

    I've got timber floor with will be tiled. Is there any point in lifting floorboards and fitting kingspan between joists? Will it make a any difference to just putting 9 mm ply and then tiles?

    Kitchen floor - vinyl vs. tile?

    I've got timber floor in the kitchen, just varnished floorboards, lots of gaps and totally freezing! As we will be ripping the lot out, need to decide what to put down.
