I've got timber floor in the kitchen, just varnished floorboards, lots of gaps and totally freezing! As we will be ripping the lot out, need to decide what to put down. I say vinyl, hubby says tiles. I say - vinyl easier to clean (no scrubbing grout with a toothbrush), warmer under feet, my wine glass will not break if I drop it, will not crack when the washer does it's 1600 p/m spin and jumps all over. And it looks easier to put down. He says - everybody goes for tiles and his pushbike will not scratch them (here we go to my point no. 1 re cleaning etc.).
We budget around £20-25 per sq. m.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

with your budget you will be looking at vinyl.

To be honest i would have vinyl over ceramic tiles regardless of cost. There just to cold.
