Greenstar 25/30is top up pressure with key ?

Thanks for the replies. This is the first time ive topped up since it was installed last year. It dropped a bit a few days after installation and ive only noticed it was at zero today. There are no visible leaks and I think I may have bled a few rads a few months ago. I wont worry about...

Greenstar 25/30is top up pressure with key ?

Many thanks for that :D Its back up to about 1.2 bar where the plumber had originally set the dial. However I am a bit worried that it had slipped down to 0 bar (absolute zero) and took a lot of water to re-pressurise. Could this be a mains leak or maybe ch system leak ? Thanks again

    Tarmac costs ?

I dont know the full details but I think 4 grand is a bit much considering they couldnt possibly have done proper preparation in the time it took. It was raked and rolled, not particularly level either ! Im just curious as to how much the tarmac actually cost to supply then I can work out...

    Tarmac costs ?

Hi all, A friend of mine has just had a 'quick job' done on a farm access road that was badly potholed, he was charged 4 grand for about 700 square meters and all they did was to plonk down about an inch of what I think is wearing course, no kerbs or top coat. It took them only half a day...

    monopitch with furrings ?

Fixing them at the 4" end was one of my concerns too, maybe I will fix all the way along until near the thick end and screw some plates on the side. I would have preferred a lower 2" firring like you said, but im always concerned about capillary action...

    monopitch with furrings ?

Too late to change the firrings, already paid for and just been collected. £23.00 all in, which I think is an excellent price. Looks like they will have to go on top of 6x2 in order to support the weight of 18mm t&g inside and out. Thanks for your help.

    monopitch with furrings ?

Cheers Jason, The fall is along the 3.6 width and the joists / wallplate are not on yet. Im just a little concerned about the 8" + height of timber at the front, which will require a really deep fascia. I assume I will need 4x2 joists regardless, otherwise the 'zero' end of the furring...

    monopitch with furrings ?

Hi all, Im about to build a flat monopitch roof for a garden building using full length corrugated sheets. I have ordered some furrings (spelling ?) which consist of 4x2 cut down from 4" to zero and will be using them to give a minimal pitch and allow me to have a non sloping ceiling...

    Magic cable ?

(sarcastic git mode on) When I said magic cable i was merely referencing my amazement at seeing the 'pinnochio emulating plastic moulded neon impregnated diy test prod' light up. I came here for an answer and maybe constructive opinions as I like to learn from forums and not just take an...

    Magic cable ?

Hi, Out of curiosity and wanting to learn more I have tried in vain to find more info on this type of induction, but came up with this : http://www.iee.org/Forums/messageview.cfm?catid=205&threadid=4012 Im wondering what you guys think is an acceptable amount of induction and how much...

    Magic cable ?

Thats what got me shaggy, I understand the magnetic induction bit but didnt think it would be enough to light the test screwdriver.

    Magic cable ?

Thank you for such an informative reply :) Makes perfect sense to me, just hadn't noticed it before. Considering im not a pro 'sparky' you can imagine that I was pulling my hair out and questioning my own sanity : "it cant be live, its dead" "its dead, it cannot be live" "my god, ive...

    Magic cable ?

Hi all, If I told you I had an unconnected, undamaged 1.5 cable showing a weak current would you believe me ? Well I have one that magically shows a small current when another cable next to it becomes live, I have just removed the 'non connected' cable and the insulation is not damaged at...

Running 2.5 power cables through a fluroescent light fitting

Very good point, cant believe I missed that but I do call myself barney bodge  It would have looked very neat and tidy but would only annoy me greatly when I have to replace the fitting, or replace the power circuit when it melts from excess heat created by the resistors. Thanks for...

Running 2.5 power cables through a fluroescent light fitting

Im in line with regs then, loads of circ boxes and no runs with more than 180 total between boxes. I wonder what regs would have to say about my initial comment of using the fluorescent box as a 'through route' ?

Running 2.5 power cables through a fluroescent light fitting

Amazing how the little threader pulled the whole lot through 4 90's for a total of 35 feet in one go :o And of course, all this work was carried out and finished before 01/01/05
