    Minimum screed drying time

What is the minimum amount of time that you could expect to lay Amtico on a newly laid screed (about 3mm)? I've had a screed put down (on top of asphalt) and the floor was then primed 2hrs later, and Amtico laid an hour after that. Think screed was water-based but not 100% sure. The humidity...

    Ridge appeared in Amtico floor...

Well plywood does expand and should be laid with expansion gaps. A problem could be caused by heat or moisture and if there are no gaps the ply could expand/swell upwards. Are there CH or hot water pipes underneath the floor at the point where the problem is occurring? Has the amtico been...

    Ridge appeared in Amtico floor...

Have you tried contacting Amtico technical department for advice? I had a serious problem with my Amtico floor a couple of years ago and contacted them to discuss the problem and get advice. It resulted in a site visit from their technical manager to look at the problem first hand. After...

Screed not dry after 6 hrs, amtico going down tomorrow

Thanks. Found out last night that floorer admitted he watered down the screed to get it to run better. Have got up this morning - still wet, still mushy in places. What has dried it now crumbly and dusty and breaks up when you run your finger over it.

Screed not dry after 6 hrs, amtico going down tomorrow

Ok will do, thank you. Floorers said themselves 2-3hrs and couldn't understand why it was still wet 6hrs later when I called them. If screed has been incorrectly prepared, what impact might this have on a vinyl tile going down? I'm concerned about screed being too soft, or breaking up, or...

Screed not dry after 6 hrs, amtico going down tomorrow

Will just add that it's now been down for nearly 9 hrs and it's still like custard in places (and that's near an edge where it's only about 1mm thick)

Screed not dry after 6 hrs, amtico going down tomorrow

Hi, just after some advice/reassurance. Having a bit of a nightmare with an Amtico floor at the moment. It was laid last week and pulled up today as it was poorly fitted (subfloor preparation not as good as it should have been; lots of ripples and bumps). The adhesive was scraped off and...
