Ariston 27 MFFI repeated lockout on DHW

Just to follow up. After having a heating guy in who also didn't know, but suggested it might be the pcb (quite troublesome in this model apparently), I changed it. Voila, it works fine now. One note to anyone who does this - The new pcb (new model with removable eproms) sits slightly...

Ariston 27 MFFI repeated lockout on DHW

I've bleed all the radiators and there's no air left in them. It's still doing the same thing. It locks out more when the rooms are coming up to temperature (maybe just because it's on more), so it did it 4-5 times this morning alone. It always fires fine from cold, but it lights red when...

Ariston 27 MFFI repeated lockout on DHW

Thanks for replying. I've bled them a couple of times - but I will retry that on every radiator jic. Pressure is stable at 1 bar and 1.5 once it's lit. I replaced the autoair vent last winter as the seal failed. Could there be air trapped in the pump? Is it worth bleeding that? Would...

Ariston 27 MFFI repeated lockout on DHW

My Ariston boiler repeatedly locks out, lighting the ignition failure LED, but only when the heating is on. It's been fine all summer supplying hot water, but now it locks out 3-4 times a day. It will nearly always relight as soon as you press the reset button, although rarely I need to wait a...

    Increasing pressure on Worcester 24i

I'm not expert and I know this is obvious, but have you checked the water pressure in the cold tap? Do all the hot taps have the same problem? If the cold doesn't work, it's got to be closed stop-cock, a leaking supply, or problem at the water company. The pressure listed on the front of the...

    Ariston Diverter valve leaking

Bingo! You were right. I didn't realise the top of the valve in the diverter body needed to be aligned with the pin and it rotates in the seat. Once I'd centered it with the actuator pin and refilled the system it all works correctly. Thanks for everyone's help with this.

    Ariston Diverter valve leaking

I replaced the actuator spring kit and bush. It seemed like it would only screw in and align one way. Is it possible I screwed in the bush and spring mis-aligned? If so I'll drain it and take it apart again. Since the default actuator position is DHW I took the actuator off leaving the pin...

    Ariston Diverter valve leaking

I did a bit more digging and the actuator is fine. I can see that the normal position is with the valve diverting to the hot water, but it looks like the valve isn't completely closing in this position and it's leaking into the heating. The heating pipe gets hot as I run the water which...

    Ariston Diverter valve leaking

I managed to get the correct parts. They were a good match for the old ones and the boiler is now working. When I opened the panel I noticed the auto air vent was also leaking water, so I had to replace that as well (which was a complete pita because of the access). All seems to be working...

    Ariston Diverter valve leaking

I managed to get the actuator bush and springs off this evening and can see that this does seal the valve. I'll take the serial number and removed parts with me tomorrow just to be sure, and I'll report back on the results. Fingers crossed. Thanks David

    Ariston Diverter valve leaking

Hi, Please help! I've got no hot water or heating and the missus isn't very pleased. I have an Ariston 27MFFI which has leaked overnight from the top of the diverter valve where it meets the Actuator motor. I read that I might have to replace the whole flow group (998613), but I thought...

Ariston 27mffi boiler locking out when turning off dhw

I guess this is a tricky one. One other important point I didn't mention is that if you're very careful to turn the water off slowly rather than just turning the tap as normal, it will always be ok. Does this give any other clues?

Ariston 27mffi boiler locking out when turning off dhw

Hi, This is my first plumbing post, so apologies if I don't describe the the problem very well. I have an Ariston 27 mffi which works well most of the time. Last winter it started locking out (red light near reset button) intermittently when you turn off the dhw. It happens most often...

Building a raised bed / seating area

Thanks for the reply! You're correct in saying that the planter is completely enclosed and I can see how that would give it more strength. I will take your advice and lay double thickness 7n blocks. I'll also make sure that the foundations for the taller are well into the clay just in case.

Building a raised bed / seating area

Hi, I'm new here, so please bear with me, because I might be off the mark. I've searched the forums but can't find exactly what I want I want to build two raised beds, one about 60 cm high and one about 1m high, so that you can build some seating against it and use it as a back rest. Each...
