    If this is just taking the large screw off the front of the pump then yes, the air (gurggling noise) appears trapped in or just above the boiler

    Ok... My ideal classic ff250 boiler keeps cutting out due to (i beleive ) overheating. Every time i fire it up it will gurggle a hell of a lot how do i get rid of this air. Tried the obvious one radiators and bleed tap in airing cupboard which has helped but not cured

    The pump appears to be ok, i had it working yesterday but didnt let it run for long just in case i was doing more harm than good. I will try your sugestion anyway i just dont understand it .......

    sorry don't know, at work at the moment. Its about 10 years old and has a small drop/swing down panel on the front that reveals a few controls. Is it a job for a qualified plumber or can i bleed the air ?

    I beleive the make is ideal , its gravity fead with pump and i have a hot water tank upstairs in the airing cupboard. Is it possible for air to get trapped in the boiler ?

    ok, so the plot thickens. I have fixed the leak and re-filed the system. The boiler kicked in for about 30 secs then went out, i cant even see the pilot light. Does anyone have any suggestions ?

    I thought the hot water was on a different system, i have only shut off the central heating system. The hot/cold water taps still work

    I managed to put a nail through a radiator pipe so shut off water with stop cock and drained central heating system (after tying float to stop tank in loft from re-filling) Put water back on but ( central heating still drained ) but now boiler wont fire up to heat hot water etc. Can someone...
