    Invensys Actuator TA/M4 seems stuck

Well that is probably the only solution but that would be pushing my limited plumbing skills too far. Im happy to replace stuff but re-engineering is a step too far. Anyway, I will give up and call a plumber and see what they say.

    Invensys Actuator TA/M4 seems stuck

Indeed but they dont have any - not AFAICS does anyone else :-( The only one I have found is this comedian https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304786667328

    Invensys Actuator TA/M4 seems stuck

It doesn't judder - rather I can feel the vibration of a motor turning; same feeling you get when a pump is running but it has to be in the actuator as the only outside connection are the wires. But I am surprised that if I grip the spindle with pliers I cant turn it at all. Trouble is there...

    Invensys Actuator TA/M4 seems stuck

Hi All My central heating controls do not work because, I think the actuator does not work I can manually move the 3 position 'tap' (normally driven by the actuator) to get hot water or central heating but the electronic actuator seems stuck so the thermostat has no effect making controlling the...

    Wrong Handed door

Well at the end of the day, £3.40 with Screwfix for a new latch fixed the problem. Thanks to all those who contributed Festive felicitation to all

    Wrong Handed door

I cant see how it is possible in my case If I flip the handles as suggested then pushing the handle down rotates the square spindle that moves the latch in the other direction but the spindle only rotates one way (there is some catch inside the latch mechanism that stops it turning the other...

    Wrong Handed door

LostintheLight: I have to say it looks plausible. I'll have a go later tonight or maybe tomorrow. I'm on tidying up duty right now and if I dont get that done I'll probably spend Xmas in the garden shed!!

    Wrong Handed door

I've had one lock apart and can see no way I can change things internally to change the hand. Its hard because things are held together with a circlip and my circlip removing tool has pins that are too big! It seems screwfix may have a latch that fits in which case I will go down that route. If...

    Wrong Handed door

All other handles in the house rest horizontal and push downwards to open. Upside down: Yes my first thought (well 3rd actually!) but its not possible (hence the PS above). Effing stupid design IMHO!

    Wrong Handed door

PS And the square hole driving the latch mechanism will only turn one way (so I cant simply turn that component upside down).

    Wrong Handed door

Sorry for the confusion. This picture is of the door handles assembled (but without the door!). In this position the latch is pulled inwards when the handles are pushed down. Perfect BUT the door closes 'away' from the viewer of the picture and the sloping side of the latch points towards the...

    Wrong Handed door

I doubt it. All door handles in the house are the same design and installed with the long side down. Some (eg bathroom) have a lightly longer back plate to provide space for a locking knob but all are installed long side down. Some open Left Handed and some Right. This is the only one that does...

    Wrong Handed door

I have inherited a lounge door with handle that has the wrong hand (up to open) I've taken it apart but can't see how I can change it so it is down to open. I cant believe it is not possible because other doors with the same handles opening the same way work 'correctly' Any suggestions welcome Thx

    Bosch Washer Dryer Trips electrics

Bosch clasixx 1200 washer dryer (model WAE24162UK/01). All the wash cycles I have tried (30, 40 easy care 30) trip the electrics about 7 or 8 minutes into the wash cycle regardless of the size of the load The drain cycles and spin cycles work just fine. So something is shorting out but what...

Miele Premier DIshwasher G 660 will not fill with water

Finally found it It seems that the connector joining the wire from the aquastop valve to the rest of the electrics was loose/faulty. Fiddling around in that area, plugging, unplugging and a bit of bending of the contacts and everything now works fine. Thanks to all those that participated.

Miele Premier DIshwasher G 660 will not fill with water

Yeah well I'm beginning to run out of love!! Where might I sensibly look? It is (most) unlikely to be a partial blockage because the impact is total - Lots of water or none. So I guess it has to be a sensor of some sort. How does the DW know that there is enough water inside and to...

Miele Premier DIshwasher G 660 will not fill with water

Dome thingy: I prodded the little holes gently with a piece of wire - some minimal resistance on one or two of them which then went away. No signs of gunge Tilting: Coincidence. To examine the workings, I mostly lie the DW on its side or back. When I put it upright to test it, the fill...

Miele Premier DIshwasher G 660 will not fill with water

Thanks Cakeman I have already found the pressure switch with the small black pipe, blown through the pipe from both ends and checked that when I blow into the pressure switch, the contacts change from open to closed circuit. By the motor housing: I have taken off the pipe and checked...

Miele Premier DIshwasher G 660 will not fill with water

Aquastop connections in good order. Now discover that DW will start to fill if tilted forwards into its front (or I suspect sideways) . Perhaps this suggests a sticking float valve but I cannot find this item to test. The only candidate looks like being an integral part of the big plastic...

Miele Premier DIshwasher G 660 will not fill with water

I start an economy wash cycle and I can see water entering the flat plastic container inside the RH panel and the wash cycle completes satisfactorily and the water is pumped out. This seems to suggest that all valves, filters etc can work properly (which I think rules out blockages). Then it...
