    I'm trying to have some light fittings changed in my house. Apparently there is no earth. It's a 1960's house and we've only been here a few months. Is this a huge danger? I've been told by one electrician we should really rewire the house, which when I've just decorated, is a bit of a hassle...

    Plastering over an artex ceiling

    I had samples taken by European Asbestos Services, an asbestos removal company. It's a mid-1960s house, but no idea how long the asbestos speckly ceiling effect has been here, I've just moved in and am not prepared to wait around until it comes back into fashion!! :lol:

    yep it's definitely got low grade asbestos in it - I had a survey done. Anyway, thanks masona, that article was v. useful, I think skimming over it is the simple solution. cheers
