5m long span to support tile roof on shed/workshop

Was thinking about one truss half way with a support under and up to the ridge...not sure if span is technically halved? ..prob still hard to get a stuct.eng. to sign off on it. Or did you mean a full beam/pole or interbal wall support from floor to ridge? In which case its breaks the open plan...

5m long span to support tile roof on shed/workshop

For others who might be doing this: maybe you're going for cathedral to preserve headhight like me....for regs basically you must have either for the ridge: -2 massive glu lams Or -a steel. OR still use trusses with either: - raised collar trusses (what i'm doing) - scissor trusses ...this gives...

5m long span to support tile roof on shed/workshop

Yeah i wanted vaulted..so ive got to replan...current idea is since gable rafters will be 10cm square beams i might run 2 more either 8x2 or 4x4 across the lenth from mid gable rafter to gable rafter maybe giving me effectively 3 times what i have. Does that seem ok?

DPC weakness dont know what to do next

Yes OK but this is half timber on to of brick on a slope...so none of the terms I google ever come up with anything so I've freestyled it. Which of the options would you suggest? I find the dpc is fairly slippy we've got a lot of buildings resting on this in the uk to I guess it must be ok but...

Thanks I think that might be my best option and no one will see it anyway. Already used this technique to workaround a high point at the front earlier.

    Level out brick course

Cheers guys but it's not like the corners are level right now it's like a spiral I'm trying to give a bit of headroom by stepping down in to the workshop so I'm removing the earth in the centre so will be able to see the deviation better when it's not in a hole.

    How to POUR concrete footings

@SpecialK - yeah someone in the thread not to and do it in one pour - I'm guessing that it's the best if you can. I'll know after transfering how long it will take and then will do it in sections if its going to take too long.
