Thanks mickyg. Who is this Paul Barker? New to this, sorry.

The "boom" was just unsettling me, along with the smell.

I have switched if off due to being a bit unsure of it. When I switched it off earlier it was reading 1.

The pressure is reading 1.

Also noticed a drip in the back left hand corner.

Got a bit concerned earlier so switched it off as it was smelling a bit and could of swore there was smoke. Serviced about a year ago now.

Any ideas on what could be the problem? Whenever my boiler fires up, there is a boom and then it seems to cut out, however, I still have hot water and the radiators are still warm.
