Help to fit a hive thermostat

thanks for quick reply. The other thing I made a note about is that in the wiring center I had to take the wired stat wires out of T4 T5 and T2. Then for the wireless stat I had to make a loop between T4 and T5. I that what you mean by the 2 switch wires on the wiring center? Thanks

    Hot water cylinder Vent pipe

Hi everyone, A quick question I can't seem to get my head around. I have a gravity feed water system. I'm putting a whole house pump in. I have to put a side entry on the hot water tank for hot feed which means I have disconnected the house hot water feed pipe from the vent pipe because I'm now...

Equilibrium Ball valve and whole house pump

Hi, Looking at fitting a salamander rp75tu whole house pump but in their specs it says all toilets must be fitted with an equilibrium ball valve. I did Google it but wasn't sure if my rollers were ok. Toilets I have were fitted new about 9 years ago, will they be ok with a 2 bar whole house...

    Flow rate for shower

I will be installing an electric shower. There is no shower there at the moment. I know I won't be doing any of the electrics, just plumbing in the shower. I want to put a 10.5kw in, the showers of 10.5kw seem to need 1.5 bar water pressure and 11 litres a minute water flow rate. The bath has...

Is Consumer Box Big enough to take 45A trip for Shower

Thanks for all the help, looks like I will have to get someone out to have a look and get a price. Consumer box is directly below the upstairs bathroom, I'm no expert but I don't think that running the cable will be too much of a problem because it can run up in to bathroom behind the false wall...

Is Consumer Box Big enough to take 45A trip for Shower

Thanks for reply. Problem we have is that the house is rented housing association owned and they have given permission to have a shower put in at our cost and as long as we give them safety certificate. Consumer unit there at the moment meets their safety standards, was hoping that could be left...

Is Consumer Box Big enough to take 45A trip for Shower

Only just started to research is I could have a 10.5KW electric shower installed. There is no shower or wiring at the moment. Looking at shower requirements it asks for a 45A fuse with 10mm cable. I don't intend on doing the wiring up myself, I'm just weighing up the costs involved (New consumer...

Questions about putting a pump on a gravity feed hot water supply

Thanks for reply. Its a 1 bed house, it does have a loft but as I have mentioned it is a housing Association property. The house is all electric and although the Housing people have given permission for a shower I don't think they would be very happy about changing the economy 7 tank and putting...

Questions about putting a pump on a gravity feed hot water supply

Not sure what yo do as the house is housing association, they have said ok to changing the bath mixer taps to a bath/shower mixer and yes to pumping hot water but it's getting more challenging then I thought. Double checked hot tank and that is 144 litres with a 40 litre cold tank. Starting to...

Questions about putting a pump on a gravity feed hot water supply

Here is a photo of where the pipes are. The hot outlet is 22mm, comes out of side of cylinder, near the top at least 100mm below top I would say ( Sorry, I'm not at home to measure it exactly right now), as you can see it is hard to get to the outlet. Cold feed to cistern is 15mm main feed but...
