    Thanks guys, the boiler is a Valiant Eco tec plus 824 and I would like to keep the room stat set at say 20 degrees and then be able to switch the boiler on or off from another room. I prefer not to use timeclocks at all.

    @Powell, thanks for the info, I managed to blow the on board fuse which is a small 2amp cartridge fuse (got some spares at the motor factors) I replaced it and all working fine with new home made boiler controls featuring remote control using a mobile phone. :D
