    Worcester 28CDi Heat Exchanger Leak

Exactly. I expect there's a good chance I won't have the bits I need to repair it once I take it apart. When looking at the boiler from the front the leak is coming from the lower of the two connections on the left hand side of the plate heat exchanger. The original leak was the end of...

    Worcester 28CDi Heat Exchanger Leak

Morning I had a very small leak coming from the union where the plate heat exchanger connects to the diverter valve. I wanted to leave it alone as it was about one drip a day. I knew what could happen but the missus was giving me grief about it! Anyway, I nipped up the nut, refilled the...

    Worcester 28CDi expansion vessel replacement

I've got the new expansion vessel and I'm about to install it. How much air pressure should I put into it? And, do I put the air pressure in before I connect it up, or do I connect it up, pressurise the boiler with water first and then put the air pressure in?

    Worcester 28CDi expansion vessel replacement

Thanks again. From what you've all told me, I think the best option for me, will be to use a space I have to the left of the boiler (about a 5" gap). I think I'll just drill a hole in the boiler housing just to the left of the pump and feed a pipe from the new expansion vessel to the existing...

    Worcester 28CDi expansion vessel replacement

Thanks again Next question......can it be installed anywhere on the central heating circuit, or does it have to be close to the boiler. I have one radiator in the (converted) loft. Can I put the expansion vessel up there out of the way?

    Worcester 28CDi expansion vessel replacement

Thanks for replying. What sort of remote vessel do I need? What spec(s) do expansion vessels have? (volume, pressure, temperature, connections and the sizes of them). Can you post a link to a suitable replacement?

    Worcester 28CDi expansion vessel replacement

Evening all Just noticed no pressure on the boiler gauge, repressurised it to 1.5 bar, then water started dripping. Found it to be coming from the body of the expansion vessel(pinhole). My questions are:- 1/ Where can I buy one cheap? 2/ How difficult is the replacement? I've recently done...

    Worchester Bosch 28CDi

You are right, water is coming out of the PRV already. Will I need to repressurise the expansion chamber when I drain the boiler to replace the PRV?

    Worchester Bosch 28CDi

Thanks for that kitch0978 Just tried it now, and no water or air came out of the valve. Isolated the F & R valves and drained the boiler to empty, and then closed the drains. Pumped up to 1 bar, but the gauge on the boiler was going up too. I wasn't sure what to do at this point, so I hope...

    Worchester Bosch 28CDi

Is there any way I can tell if the expansion vessel is at fault, or will I just have to see if the new PRV passes too? What does recharging the vessel involve? What is it filled with?

    Worchester Bosch 28CDi

Thanks Lunat Upped the pressure to 1.5 bar, when cold, and the temperature in the radiators came back. Pressure has dropped back down again though. It's losing it out of the PRV, so I've just ordered a new one. Thanks again for your help.

    Worchester Bosch 28CDi

Hello all My Worchester Bosch 28CDi is not getting as hot as it used to on the central heating side. A month ago, if the thermostat was set to maximum, you couldn't hold your hand on some radiators for more than a few seconds, but now, although they are still pretty warm, they are not getting...
