    Water too hot

There is an immersion heater in there. Thanks to all who helped. I'm going to measure the water temp using an aquarium thermometer, just to rule out an incorrect perception. Not being an expert, I'm puzzled why friends have suggested a faulty motorised valve. How would that make the...

    Water too hot

There is a click and the stat is firmly attached one third up. The cylinder is upstairs in a bedroom and the system is gravity fed. The central heating can come on independently of the hot water, but the bathroom radiator comes on with the hot water. The boiler is a Potterton Prima F.

    Extending a shed base

Hello I am extending a concrete shed base from 8'x6' to 10'x10', to a depth of 2", but with 4" around the edges. The depths were what a builder said would be adequate. This is for a summerhouse. My questions are: How many ready-mixed bags of aggregate will I need? Or is it a lot cheaper...

Removing emulsion paint from plaster wall

Hello I've removed artex from a bathroom wall as it was trapping black mould. I would like to repaint straight onto the old plaster after preparation, but the emulsion applied by a previous owner has only come away in patches. I've used a steam stripper but it hasn't removed all the old...
