Thanks again - the knowledge on here is invaluable - I suspected there is something not right with the way the pump is set up - from my knowledge of diesel Land Rovers! My instinct from this experience would be either air is getting into the system or the pump is not working properly - your...

Thanks for the replies - seems pretty clear then - it should work! - Bugger! ordered the oil now & was hoping to wait a while for any seasonal price drop. No foam in the bowl, but does seem to be a lot of condensation? - looks like water droplets? even when working there was only ever a 1 cm...

When fitting our new oil central heating system we were stuck for a location for the tank, as there is only limited space at the back of the house. After some advice we converted a small disused out-house to house a 1300 litre vertical tank, but to allow for filling this had to be kept as low as...

Thanks for the confirmation Tibbot - believe me I am not trying to "attempt to put any credibility to what I've had done" - I am dealing with people who really do not like getting paid and are making some serious overtones - therefore I want to make sure I get my facts straight as to why I am...

Ok - I got onto the builders merchant that supplied the cylinder yesterday and they have contacted Megaflow on my behalf. They state that "the Honeywell V4073 is the correct valve and was the one supplied with the cylinder and meets all the required regulations" Now I am really confused! :?

Tried an experiment today - I put the heating on the all day setting, then 15 minutes later put the hot water on too, as one of the kids had used some for a bath - Everything looked ok, radiators got hot, left it on for an hour and switched off. Went to wash up - NO hot water, just luke warm...

Some photos: Yes I am going to clean it out up there and lay some decent insulation - The builder who did the roof seems to have saved himself a skip by dumping most of his rubbish back in :( But at least the cat is happy!

Hi Londonboy I have ventured up into the loft tonight to have a closer look - its a real mess up there - have taken some photos & if anyone thinks they might help I will try to post them on here. The Valve I think you mean is a Honeywell V4073 Mid position diverter valve - Do you think...

Ok - the post was probably a little too long and I lost most of you before getting to the point? Sorry! so here is my main question: I have been experimenting with the controls, but still cannot get both Hot water and heating to run together. The programmer shows both Hot water and...

Hi – forgive me if the length of this post and if it demonstrates my ignorance of central heating matters, but I am new here and getting very confused! – partly by the conflicting information various trades people have told me about my new system – I have been searching this forum’s past posts &...
