Fuse size for 2 (& for 3) 50W downlights on 240V ring ma

There doesn't appear to be anything specific. The Homebase instruction pamphlet (print date 08/10/08) only gives a model number 664521 (which I guess I might be able to use to hunt down a definitive answer). On the fitting itself there are several symbols. One is the obligatory "don't throw...

Fuse size for 2 (& for 3) 50W downlights on 240V ring ma

I guess there truly is a first time for everything then.... There doesn't seem to be ant reference on any of the packaging/instructions that makes specific reference to being "fire rated". So how do I know whether these fittingd are or not? If they were, then would it always be clearly...

Fuse size for 2 (& for 3) 50W downlights on 240V ring ma

I agree on the ugly factor (hence the change).....but indeed a quality light output which I would be pretty sorry not to be able to replicate (to a reasonable degree). Just checked. The strip light tube is printed with: L 65/80W/23 I presumed the 80W to be the light output. Thanks...

Fuse size for 2 (& for 3) 50W downlights on 240V ring ma

I'm not at all familiar with CFLs. So......when you say "when a job's worth doing", what exactly are we talking here financially? And I take it that they can be ceiling sunken in the same way as halogens?

Fuse size for 2 (& for 3) 50W downlights on 240V ring ma

Was changing over from a flourescent light. But it was one of those 5 foot long jobbies that would have looked more at home in an office in the seventies. Liked the light its 80W gave out though....

Hi, Hoping you can help me (as the instructions don't aren't) with the following...... The installation of 2 or 3 (not sure yet) halogen downlights (each fitted with a 50W bulb) fed by a spur from the sole existing lights circuit is intended, which is currently protected by a 6-amp fuse at...

POWER BUTTON WONT TURN UNIT OFF & WATER FLOW SUDDENLY HA

Cheers, Matthew! Without people like yourself demonstrating their willingness to impart their knowledge, then ignorameses like me (who form the great uninformed majority) would probably still be rubbing sticks together whenever we fancied a hot meal! Thanks, not only for myself, but on...

POWER BUTTON WONT TURN UNIT OFF & WATER FLOW SUDDENLY HA

Thanks for your response once again Matthew! For if it should happen again.....how does one test a solenoid? Is it simply a case of sticking a voltmeter or something on the connecting points of the part, or is it something more complicated? If a solenoid is scaled, is it a part that can be...
