    Basic home network advice please

Oh dear. I suppose running 2 x Cat 6 cables to each location would have been sensible! Yes, the Velop in the lounge (connected to VM by Cat 6) works well. The other 2 are showing Fair and Weak signals

    Basic home network advice please

Is it possible to get some advice on this please: I have a Virgin Media hub in an airing cupboard upstairs. In a recent renovation, I ran single Cat 6 cables from the airing cupboard to three locations (Main bedroom, Kitchen and Lounge). My plan was to plug in all 3 Ethernet cables into the...

    Fire hazard in Storage Heater

We have recently bought a flat with E7 heating and I thought that I would just whip the covers off the heaters to clean all the crap out before having to put them on. Found this inside one of them - (transit packaging?). Must have been slowly cooking inside for about 20 years! :eek...

Downlight recommendations please - what are you fitting ?

...there is so much choice !! I want to replace several surface light fittings in my new flat with downlighters but would really appreciate recommendations of what you are currently fitting. I have searched the forum but despite hundreds of posts, can't find much info on current models. All...

Sliding door runner identification & replacement

Ok, tried loosening it and it comes all the way out without any noticeable change to the roller mechanism. IMG_3584 by Niscars posted 29 Nov 2020 at 10:42 AM Looking closely at the two rollers, it looks to me that the one that is catching (RHS) is slightly bent (pictures below). Ok one...

Sliding door runner identification & replacement

Good call, it's a flat head screw but I've got it as tight as I can but doesn't seem to make any difference.:( IMG_3582 2 by Niscars posted 28 Nov 2020 at 3:34 PM

Sliding door runner identification & replacement

Hi, the sliding balcony door in our new flat will only shut if the door is lifted very slightly whilst turning the handle to engage the closing action. It looks like one of the rollers / closers has dropped and the bottom of the door catches on it as the door moves into the frame to close. I...

    New ensuite vent options

Many thanks, that does look like a good bit of kit. Looking on the negative side of this though, I will still need block management permission for the hole. :( Could anyone comment on feasibility of the original proposal to join into the existing please?
