Vaillant Ecotec Plus slow to fire up

Thanks, John, it seems that my limited knowledge is seeing a problem that doesn't exist. Your clear answer makes perfect sense - and thus the boiler is working as it should. Do appreciate the time you have taken to share your knowledge - many thanks!

Vaillant Ecotec Plus slow to fire up

A strange problem - my central heating, although working, does not seem to be doing so correctly. The call for heat comes from a Drayton Digistat receiver. It shows all the correct lights (eg green for heat required) and I can clearly hear the relay clicking when I turn the RF thermostat...

    Drayton Wiser install

Jobs a good'un! Went real smooth thanks to you clarifying a few points for me. Only hitch was the set up App couldn't find the OpenTherm module. A call to Drayton revealed I had an old Firmware version on the hub - once updated, everything was fine. Really wouldn't have know about OpenTherm...

    Drayton Wiser install

Many thanks, sxturbo - you've pointed me in a useful direction - I wasn't aware of Opentherm before! Like you, I like to plan things in my head before starting (hence this post) so can I run a couple of things by you? On the Intergas - Firstly, all switching will be 24v? (which is the X4...

    Drayton Wiser install

I have been summoned to do the above by my son - thanks for that! - so need to check with the experts on here that I do the right thing. The boiler is an Intergas HSE combi controlled by a Drayton Digistat WR1 (nee SCR) receiver, which receives its instructions from a Drayton Digistat RF+2...

    Intergas...but which...

Anyone remember that idiot who posted on here not so long ago regarding, iirc, help with his daughters noisy boiler? Then ended up, in a delusional fashion, insulting all the regular posters on here in an increasingly aggressive manner? His signature pic had an ugly s*d with red hair in it -...

    Intergas...but which...

Just had to undo a couple of compression connectors. But Kamco have really thought this through and the kit comes with a myriad of different size/type of connectors. I was most impressed.

    Intergas...but which...

I made the mistake/oversight of not fitting a Combimate in front of my son's Intergas. Also, the hot water setting was far too high. Combine that with a very hard water area, and the inevitable happened. Descaling was simplicity itself, as you Dan of course know. I hooked up a Kamco, ran the...

Jeez, Dan, we've got the windbags out on this thread, haven't we? Why don't you all retire to the CC and let hard-work and Bernard deal with the posters on here? They obviously have a wealth of practical experience on the tools....

Aw, Razor, now you've burst my bubble! :D Come to think about it, I think you're due to give it the once over shortly - will Intergas send out an auto-reminder?

    Intergas...but which...

First time I've heard a Wilo pump described as quality. It is the same pump that went t*ts up in my "quality" Vaillant less than 6 months from new.

How to Measure For Replacement Corner Bath Panel

No, my bad - I was thinking about the straight edges, but as you say, corner bath, it's the curved edge that's revealed...... Clearly, I am missing something today! Okay, as a starter, run your steel tape around the curved edge of the bath. Even better, if you are strong at maths, the...

How to Measure For Replacement Corner Bath Panel

Perhaps I am missing something here, but if you make your own panels (or even if you buy some) - you have the bath in front of you to measure. Clearly, we have misunderstood what you need to do / you haven't explained yourself well enough. Even a picture would be helpful to get us started -...
