    Kitchen Sink

Hi All My kitchen tap needs replacing, as it old and drips. The sink is a black composite one so I thought whilst replacing the tap I would replace the sink as well. The problem is the sink is 1100mm. I can not find any stainless steel sinks that wide with 1.5 bowls. Does anyone have any...

Thanks. These were the real deal which is why I'm surprised and wonder if there is anything I can do.

    Dewalt Li-ion batteries

Hi All Bought a couple new off the bay and they have stopped working. Not good, but is there anything I can do with them to get them going again, they are 3ah? Or are they for the battery bin. Pretty new to Li-ion batteries as used Nicad until about 2 years ago. Thanks

DeWalt 18v Cordless Circular Saw - Blade bolt will not loosen

So it undoes counter clockwise like a normal thread? I'll give that a go!

DeWalt 18v Cordless Circular Saw - Blade bolt will not loosen

Perhaps a picture may help? You will see from the attached the blade spins counter clockwise. It say in the manual that to tighten the nut you need to turn it counter clockwise so to loosen it it has to be clockwise or am I completely missing something (which I probably am!). Thanks all.

DeWalt 18v Cordless Circular Saw - Blade bolt will not loosen

Right hand side. Hang up a minute, the blade spins anti clockwise. To undo a left handed thread you need to go clockwise right? So I'm not undoing it the same direction the blade spins!

DeWalt 18v Cordless Circular Saw - Blade bolt will not loosen

    New Mitre Saw

Just thought I'd mention, the GCM8 arrived Friday, spent about an hour setting it up yesterday. But we'll worth it, I've used a few mitre saws in my time but this is a step above. Well worth paying the extra. Vac is a pain in the butt, but used a 40mm angle with a tad of duct tape which fits...

    New Mitre Saw

Well Catlad, you weren't quite right, got the Scheppach and it felt and looked sound. No play whatsoever including slide. But I sent it back on two points, firstly the slide reach is too long, my work bench that houses my old saw throw was 88cms, this is nearer 125cms. But more importantly, the...

    New Mitre Saw

Many thanks for the replies. The old one was 304mm width, 65mm height and 216mm blade which was a nice size. I'd like to hit 300mm on the width, albeit you're right, you don't use it that often but so handy to have! The Scheppach is an insane 340mm whereas the GCM8 is 312mm, both are 216mm...

    New Mitre Saw

Hi All Well my trusty mitre saw finally gave up the ghost after 15 years. I thought it was the brushes, as changed them before, but it was the gearbox which had worn out. I have a budget of around £200 and needs to be around 216mm, I am down to these; Scheppach HM216 £180 - Has anyone had any...

    Fencing - Concrete gravel boards

Hi All I wonder if anyone can help with a conundrum. I am putting up new fencing using existing straight concrete posts. The width between the posts varies from 308cms to 315cms. A section of the fence was replaced by the Thames Water as they own a water station behind it. I need to replace...

    Dewalt Nicad batteries

Thanks all, I've tried the cheap nicads and they're not great. I can't see the li-ion adapters on the net bar ebay but might this be a slightly better long term option? I would need to buy a charger of course but re- calling is a bit pricey at £40-50 a battery.

    Dewalt Nicad batteries

Hi All I wonder if you can give me some advice. I am a heavy DIY-er not trade. I have a full set (9 in total) of Dewalt cordless 18v tools all running the same 18v Nicad batteries. I have 7 (original Dewalt) batteries of which 1 by 1 they have dying over the years. I now have 1 that will hold...
