Thanks had someone around yesterday and he recons that the hot water cylinder needs replacing costing over 750!!! looking through the forum I have not heard of the job going this far.

Afternoon, my issue is as follows: When the boiler or heating turns on after about 3 min there is a loud knocking noise, the boiler turns off and brown water comes out of the overflow pipe from the attic. Had to revert to using the immersion for hot water. Thanks for any suggestions D
