Thanks PEDANTICVINDICTIVEMAN this could be the answer because when the system was refilled after replacing the PRV Tower XXX Inhibitor was used instead of Sintinel which had been used originally. (Tower XXX does claim to prevent boiler noise!) I will post the outcome to this thread
