    Bathroom Electrics Tripped

Thought I would post an update out of courtesy. The electrician came while I was in work so I didn't get chance to speak to him. He fixed the lights and the extractor fan, but he said the mirror was to blame and was faulty!? I believe he has disconnected it, but I haven't been in the attic yet...

    Bathroom Electrics Tripped

I havent done anything new since the bathroom was fitted. No alterations no pictures or anything. I think I have so far eliminated the fan as the fault (disconnected). And I believe I have eliminated the mirror as the fault too (switched off)? I guess that leaves the lighting, the RCD or...

    Bathroom Electrics Tripped

That sounds like logical advice thanks, I may try that tomorrow. Or I might leave to the expert? What I don't understand is why a neutral to earth fault would just happen (if it is that)?

    Bathroom Electrics Tripped

I have tried the light pull cord twice as I did not know if it was left on or off and both options tripped the RCD. The mirror cabinet has a switch in it so I have switched this to off and it still tripped the RCD. Yes the mirror cabinet door has a de-mister. And as previously mentioned I have...

    Bathroom Electrics Tripped

Are CPN susceptible to fault? Could it be a simple case of replacing RCD? What would cause it to fail? Is there a better recommended brand? I would like this to be the answer to my problem :-)

    Bathroom Electrics Tripped

Thanks for the reply. Everything was working fine up until recently when one day it was working then next morning it wasn't (2 months after installation)? Strangely the fuse hasn't blown - but the RCD is stuck on red. When a fuse is put in it trips instantly! I have had to remove the fuse due...

    Bathroom Electrics Tripped

Can anyone offer any advice on this problem...? I had my new bathroom installed in October 2016. Electric installation included 4 new ceiling lights, Extractor Fan (with Humidity sensor) and a Mirror Cabinet (with lighting and shaver socket). The Fan would come on with the lights and stay on...

    Bathroom wiring solution required ???

I admit Im no electrician, Im not expecting to do the work myself, but would like to understand the details and be able to realistically spec it out etc. The bathroom is getting completely refitted so effectively a blank slate. I thought Id take advantage of this websites abundance of knowledge...

    Bathroom wiring solution required ???

Ok, well at least this is advice of sorts. I think what I am also asking is, is all of what Im asking for a realistic expectation?

    Bathroom wiring solution required ???

Hello, I wonder if any experts out there could throw some light ('scuse the pun) on a particular wiring solution for my bathroom? What I would like to do is have the following electrical items controlled... 4x colour changing LED down-lights (on the lighting circuit) - ref GAP L-4APP-W 1x...

Sure enough - having removed the cover, the plastic clamp you mention has indeed cracked. Looks like I will need to invest in some STAR shaped screw bits too. Thanks for the advice. :-)

MIRA ZEST - Flood, gushing out water from base!! HELP.

Thanks for the reply. The shower wasnt running - but water was just gushing out of the bottom of the box for some reason!? I had to turn the water supply off to stop it. So would a new solenoid and PRD be straight forward to replace? Any ideas what I need to order?

MIRA ZEST - Flood, gushing out water from base!! HELP.

Can anybody offer some advice? I came home today to find that my shower had been gushing water (probably for hours) from the base of the shower! Flooded downstairs :-( I have read online that this may be related to a PRD (pressure relief device). I have looked on the spares website and...
