I am planning on installing a flow switch on the cold feed to a shower (15mm), to bring an inline 4 inch fan on. The wattage of the fan should be no more than 50w. integrated fridge freezer

Thanks for the fast responses, i should have been a bit clearer in my question. The reason for asking is, I was unsure there would be adequate space behind the appliance for a socket? and also how easy are integrated appliances to remove if access is required to said socket?

    Light brown scorch marks

Well he could get a qualified electrician in to make sure everything is safe with his fixed wiring or if you want to be pedantic get a cheap multimeter and check the R1 and R2 thanks for the sarcastic reply!

    Light brown scorch marks

I would change them if it were me as it is possible there is high resistance in the sockets. But I would also check that the correct cable has been installed, the zs reading is nice and low and the voltage is not to high.

    CAT 5 Question

Phone cable is definitely not suitable as it missing a pair I think. Depending what the network is to be used for I would think Cat 5 is more than adequate. The reason for this is unless the rest of the network is cat 6 its only as good as its weakest link. But do bear in mind what electronicsuk...

Halogen Light Bulbs + Loft Insulation

Yes they will do the trick. Make sure you try and put the transformers on top of the insulation. Not that critical if they are electronic but important if wire-wound. Hope that helps.

Various routes to becoming an electrician

I have to been to university and gained an HND in Business and finance. I then decided a change of direction in my life. The best way would be a JTL apprenticeship which is what I did. You are not to old nor does it matter that you have been to UNI. You will find unless an employer is willing to...

    lets have some opinions

I would always fit square d domae boards myself. I only really work in commercial and industrial environments and our company always uses schneider group distribution equipment (Square d, Merlin Gerin). Never any problems very good quality.

    adding extra sockets

The official line is as many sockets as you want providing the floor area does not exceed 100m2 and as mentioned you take into account the load going to be put on the circuit. It is also recommended to install 4mm radials in kitchens as it can be difficult to balance the load on a ring.
