My brick is not smooth, but has ridges on the them...does anyone know the name of this brick?

An extra brick I found buried in the yard! It has ridges on 3 of the sides, the 'back' of brick is smooth.

I am not familiar with having a combination of concrete block and brick running pattern for the inside of my exterior walls, but I guess this is how they did it back in 1950?
