    Shed insulation mistake...

I thought a visqueen vapour barrier was to stop the moisture from being able to get from inside to the insulation cold side? Meaning no condensation. Have I got it wrong?

    Shed insulation mistake...

Okay thank you, so putting visqueen under the OSB won't make any difference? Extractor fans aren't ideal as I'm heating the space and not the water

    Shed insulation mistake...

There is no air gap :( if I didn't have an airgap would a vapour barrier have solved the problem? Coraline bitumen sheets Thank you, the tanks have lids so any condensation from them should remain in the tank. Or atleast wouldn't it condensate on the OSB inside?

    How to reduce flow rate?

All the pipes are lagged, it's a new build. It's like the oil combi boiler can't keep up with the demand. I think it's because the flow rate through the heat exchanger needs to be below 15l per minute to keep the hot water store heated. Would that be right?

    How to reduce flow rate?

Thank you, sorry i should have searched. Its a mixer shower and just turning the pressure down doesn't seem to solve the issue. I have changed the heat plate exchanger on the boiler and replaced the little plastic flow regulator on the inlet. I have a grant vortex outdoor combi 26. Should have...

Underfloor heating matt ontop of chipboard

The only reason i was going down this route was because i had tiles left from building the house. Think i will just cut my losses and get laminate flooring! Seems alot simpler and won't need a ufh matt. Thank you for your help

    Testing new pipe work

Hi, i have just extended my central heating system to upstairs but before plasterboard i would like to test the system for leaks. If i blank all the tails upstairs and then connect upto the system, will the air in the pipe upstairs bleed from radiators/taps downstairs? Thanks in advance

Adding new radiators and water / 22mm or 15mm

Yes it was my decision. Wanted as little space in the house taken up by water cylinders and plumbing pipes.

Adding new radiators and water / 22mm or 15mm

Thank you for your reply. So running mostly 22mm for the shower and sink basin won't affect pressure too much? Also is it normal with a combi boiler that if the shower is running and then the kitchen hot tap is opened that the shower goes cold?

Adding new radiators and water / 22mm or 15mm

What i'm trying to say simplified is: The flow and return pipes are 22mm copper, when the pipe goes vertically through the internal wall to upstairs it has been reduced to 15mm. Should i increase back from 15mm to 22mm at the nearest point upstairs, or will this not make a difference as...

Adding new radiators and water / 22mm or 15mm

Hi, I built a house approximately 2 years ago. We went for the Grant Vortex outdoor combi boiler 26kw. The plumber at the time has done 22mm runs for hot water and then 15mm reducing tees to the shower, taps etc. Reading the grant manual it says that it all be done in 15mm. At the time, i...

caulking new skirting boards and architraves

Hi, We had our new skirting boards and architraves fitted about 6 weeks ago, about 3 weeks ago i caulked along the top of the skirting boards and around the edges of the architraves to leave a clean finish and no gaps. Now it has all come apart because of the recent heat i think, is it...
