    I am fitting a shower unit in a small spare room. All the plumbing will be coming form the hot press in the next room. What sort of connections do I have to make. Adjoining wall is a block wall. Do I just drill holes to take the pipes and make the connection in the hot press?

    Yes, thought it was voltage drop but have never experienced it in the other houses I have lived in and though it might be due to old wiring or corroded connections.

    I have a large L-shaped living/dining room concrete floor and I wish to lay wooden flooring. Room dimensions is 7X7 metres with about a quarter of it 'removed' to form the L shape. Is it OK to lay the flooring all in the same direction or better to 'break' the run at the inside corner of the L.

    Thanks for all the advice. Could cut the tiles but to centre the 4 tiles with the WC pan would spoil the layout of the floor. Plan to use putty to bed the pan on the tiles. Is this OK. Used to work in the'old days' when settling the pan on wooden floorboards.

    Suggest you fit an unvented hot water tank. Expensive but worth every penny. I had one fitted recenlty as my electric shower was a nuisance. Is difficult to get me out of the shower in the mornings...sheer bliss.
