Help finding ceiling extractor with light (that is bright).

Hi, I have just had an extension built with a small en-suite bathroom that contains a shower. As I also want an extractor fan I thought a light within a ceiling extractor would be a good idea and my electrician has set this up in the first fix. This would be placed central about 2.5 foot...

Glow worm boiler with smart centre - complex problems.

I'm pretty sure that some Glow Worm boilers such as my Flexicom 35hx does not come with the link wire installed and there is no mention of it in the boiler installation instructions. I think the small link wire comes with the smart wiring centre pack.

Glow worm boiler with smart centre - complex problems.

Link wire was put in yesterday - he opened up the front of the boiler and once he got the cover off it took about 20 seconds to put in. Everything working perfectly. Thanks for your suggestions about how to get some form of compensation for forking out for this rewiring.

Glow worm boiler with smart centre - complex problems.

Electrician now coming Wednesday - But it seems almost certain that no one checked the existence of the link - the electrician expected the link to be in the boiler when it was delivered or at least it should have been written in the boiler instructions which he and his has gas buddy were...

Glow worm boiler with smart centre - complex problems.

Electrician coming tonight. He said he didn't fit the link wire - must have missed it in the instructions. Surely the Glow Worm people would have checked it? maybe not - I'll update when he's opened up the boiler. Fingers crossed. Thanks, Bakerbloke.

Glow worm boiler with smart centre - complex problems.

Before glow worm will get involved again I will need to do three things they suggest: 1. Total rewire for system - which I have done and am awaiting invoice which I will need to pay. 2. Buy and install new valve 3. Buy and install new stat. My electrician recommends not to do 2 and 3...

Glow worm boiler with smart centre - complex problems.

Some good ideas coming through - much appreciated - haven't been able to check if the link wire is in. From an earlier post - the heating parameters on the climapro are on. About to send the link to these suggestions to Glow worm.

Glow worm boiler with smart centre - complex problems.

The menu prompts for a diagnostic code - D8 heating demand is always 0 (=no heat request).

Glow worm boiler with smart centre - complex problems.

CH on does have 240v if the boiler is set to setting 2 test mode. It just doesn't respond to any heating demand - just hot water. Regarding the link - haven't checked yet I'm not electrically qualified but know a little about computer electronics - I don't mind opening up the smart centre...

Glow worm boiler with smart centre - complex problems.

Link wire - makes sense - you would have thought that the glow worm people would have checked this on one of their visits - on the other hand they were scratching their heads over the s.30 thing. I'll keep you posted.

Glow worm boiler with smart centre - complex problems.

To recap the valve is fully opened when CH test mode is selected on boiler - so the boiler is capable of sending a CH open signal to the smart centre. But it never responds to the climapro thermostat - even so I can see the climapro is sending the signal when temp goes below target temp. So...

Glow worm boiler with smart centre - complex problems.

Some more information. I can confirm that the climapro and antenna are sending CH signals via EBUS. If I switch on DHW overide on climapro: Signal sent (as observed by single flash on antenna circuit board). Signal picked up by boiler (diagnostic code 25 - "hot water activation via...

Glow worm boiler with smart centre - complex problems.

External sensor - do you mean the outdoor sensor? - I don't have this sensor just the Climapro remote unit. What would happen if the Grey wire from the valve (=DHW off) was connected to terminal 2 of the cylinder stat instead of the smart wiring centre? Is it worth a try? Thank you all for...

Glow worm boiler with smart centre - complex problems.

It is the radiator symbol. Regarding eBUS there are just two terminals - "eBUS" and "0v" in the flexicom boiler. Cheers.

Glow worm boiler with smart centre - complex problems.

My electrician says that the White wire coming from the CH ON has never had a current going through it from the smart centre. If he takes the White wire out and applies a voltage then the valve opens. Regarding the 24v to 0v this is not known - he thinks the glow worm people would have checked...

Glow worm boiler with smart centre - complex problems.

It looks like the grey wire from the valve goes to the DHW off terminal in the smart wiring centre.

Glow worm boiler with smart centre - complex problems.

Two brown wires come from the smart centre to the cylinder stat. The cylinder stat contains three terminals - C, 1 and 2. The brown wires are connected to C and 1. There is nothing connected to 2. Thanks, Bakerbloke

Glow worm boiler with smart centre - complex problems.

I don't know but it is doing it's job in switching off when the water gets to temp. One engineer was concerned that it doesn't meet any resistance when you turn it all the way round with a screwdriver - you can just keep turning it but despite this it heats the water to whatever temp you set.

Glow worm boiler with smart centre - complex problems.

I have several qualified people trying to install the following system which currently only gives DHW - no CH. Glow worm Flexicom 35 HX Smart wiring centre Climapro RF 2 being fitted to my existing plumbing containing: i) Honeywell V4073 motorised valve ii) Honeywell L641A cylinder...
