Unfortunately I still have the problem with the boot. I can only open the boot from inside thr car. The key does not turn when I try opening the boot from outside. Any other suggestions please?

Thanks Peter. I just had a look into a car identical to mine and the radio looked identical to my one so it seems to be the original radio. So is it just the case that the connection between the radio and the display is lost? Is this an easy problem to fix? Thanks

Unfortunately I don't have a similar car to compare this to. There are no steering wheel remote controls. Is it possible that it is a fuse problem?

I did buy a battery charger but when I connected it to the battery the charging light didn't come on. Not sure if it is because mine is a calcium battery or the battery is dead but ATS told me battery seemed good and it was just low on voltage so I'm not sure what the problem is.

It says copper clad aluminium cables with PVC insulation. The battery is relatively new. I bought it from ATS about 6 months ago.

The jump leads I bought from B&Q today are 40mm2 so I thought that should be big enough to do the trick.

Thanks for all the feedback. The jump leads I bought were from a corner shop for £6 and were getting quite hot when trying to jump start. I am heading down to B&Q now to buy another set of jump leads for £20 so hopefully that does the trick. I tried starting the car today and it was 100%...

Well when the jump lead cables were connected there are a faint sluggish sound but when I start normally there is just a click and no sound. The lights on the dashboard come on but the radio doesn't turn on either.

Thank you for your reply. I ensure that the jump lead connections were fine and tried jump starting with two different cars. The engine of the good car was also running and it was revved a few times also but unfortunately no luck.

Thanks for that but I've really tried everything with the WD40 but it just doesn't seem to help. When I bought the car I was only given one key with it so don't have a spare key. Is it possible that the key to the boot is different to the car key?

Hi I cannot lock the boot of my vauxhall agila 2007 car. When I put the switch in and try to turn the key to lock the boot the key just doesn't turn. I have tried WD40 but it doesn't help. Could anyone please help? :cry:
