Converting brick shed into usable space - any advice welcome

There's one corner which gets damp, but it's because it's against next doors garden which is at a slightly higher level by a couple of feet? Everywhere else seems to be dry (I've been monitoring it since we had the roof fixed a few months ago.)

Converting brick shed into usable space - any advice welcome

Hi all We've got a brick shed which has a concrete flat roof. My wife's starting a dog grooming business and so we're converting it into a room for that. We've got a plumber and electrician coming out to sort out all that stuff, but because money's tight I'm doing the rest myself, which will...

    Improving Skimming Skills

So, I've skimmed a few rooms now. I'm really happy with the results, the walls are pretty even and 99% of the skim is smooth. However, I want to get better. There's the odd blemish, no bigger than a 50p coin, where it is slight indented, maybe a paper width. What would be causing that and how...

    Bathroom Skim Coat - Preparation

Hi, As mentioned in my previous thread, due to being skint i'm having to do plastering myself. I'm getting better and better but i'm still learning with each trowel full of plaster! My next job (the outside toilet has been sidelined till next week!) is to skim the bathroom walls. At the...

    Plastering an outside toilet

Hi all, I'm new to this site, I've been having a read of the different topics over the last few days, extremely useful! I've recently bought a house that needs loads of work doing to it, we've stripped it bare. We had a builder in to do some work for us, he was great and would definitely use...
