    Urgent help needed Tenby Howdens

Thanks for that - do you have their all night help desk number? As it happens some kind soul has answered the query. The base unit needs to be set away from the wall so that the base unit doors at right-angles do not foul each other. The wall unit has an obscure length (631mm) to...

    Urgent help needed Tenby Howdens

I'm trying to get a final plan for a Howdens Tenby kitchen done tonight and am having problems: A corner wall unit. TBY5472. Is it 631mm wide? On my howdens design drawing I have on the wall the TBY5472 and a 450 wall unit TBY5416 and they are shown as stopping short of the 1000HL 50 RH...

New Kitchen - need a budget

Well mypetearthling your suggestion of http://www.refreshinteriors.co.uk/fitted_kitchen.htm almost came up trumps. Nice open helpful people who could do 900mm with similar design, quality and price. A breath of fresh air compared to the designer who visited and a few others I spoke to...

New Kitchen - need a budget

Many txs mypetearthling. As it happens refreshinteriors are about 8 miles from me. They can do them and are going to price it up for me. Getting the feeling it will be a bit more than Howdens but who knows. Can always ask for a discount - don't ask don't get I'll chase the others down...

New Kitchen - need a budget

OK so got a quote from Howdens for the Tenby (Ivory). Just over £5000 with sink and dish washer. That's about 3 tall units, 9 meters of base, 4 meters wall, 10.3 meters of solid oak work surfaces, bit & pieces and delivery. But the wall units are not to the ceiling. Presumably because a...

    Oil filled wall radiator

At that price (amazed how cheap that last one is) that looks like an option for me. It would save channeling the floor. It would also give an alternative heat source if the gas was cut off for repair or the boiler went wrong or whatever. But are these oil / electric jobbies not expensive...

New Kitchen - need a budget

But presumably they offer a range of hole sizes and colours? and any thoughts on hole prices? If pushed we might get away with smaller ones

New Kitchen - need a budget

Well homing in on the Howdens. However I note lots of issues with the Lamona Induction hob (the only one they seem to offer) so started thinking of buying separately the appliances. Bigger choice and all that. But that raised some further thoughts: If I buy appliances from elsewhere will...

    fitting new radiator

Almost 2 inches. So presumably nigel1 (or anyone else) I can easily sink a half inch into it? I've also been looking at more arty, thinner, taller non-standard radiators. THEY COST A FORTUNE!!!! So I think standard ones will do. The saving in cost will more than cover the plumber and...

New Kitchen - need a budget

many tx jay. My confidence is building that I may get a trip to New Zealand out of this budget yet :D I had a visit from a kitchen designer yesterday. The lady measured up, chatted about requirements, pushed for ideas, made a few suggestions several of which were different and practical...

New Kitchen - need a budget

Tx again Mypetearthling :D If we went Howdens I think it would be the Tenby but I'm having trouble getting the full spec. thickness, board quality, etc. Presumably that will all come with the quote. They are doing a full design, but without visiting, based on my drawings. I must say...

    fitting new radiator

Well a new kitchen has led to the need for a second radiator in the lounge (don't ask :D ). The gap from the existing radiator is about 2.7 meters straight or 3.4 meters round the walls. The boiler and pump are up for replacement so no problems there. Surely to dig a trough in the...

New Kitchen - need a budget

Well everything is racing along. I have discussed my crude kitchen and lounge plan with a retired builder and my current builder. The first thing was their ability to spot the issues: access to boiler, draining board overhang, access measurements, recalculation of radiators required, air...

New Kitchen - need a budget

Tx Gregers - you've obviously seen my previous MFI constructions. Seriously good point on tools as I can see buying them to use once or twice does seem a bit crazy. Well I had a chat to the builder who is going to knock the walls down and do some outside stuff and he offered to go through...

New Kitchen - need a budget

Thank you, all three of you for taking time out to reply. It is appreciated. It seems I could spend far less than I had thought :D I took as a guide a pricelist for fitting where it offered a price per unit; for example: Cupboards & carcases fitting inc. trims --- £50 per unit Decor...

New Kitchen - need a budget

Have a small kitchen (2.5 x 3.7 metres). I'm going to work with a builder knocking down some walls and clearing out the old. Then I'll tile and do the flooring myself. Then I'll let a professional fit the kitchen and appliances. Just three thoughts. If anyone can assist I'd be very...
