Screw head too small for bracket?

Oh no, they go into a Rigifix fixing in the wall. That comprises of a hard nylon wall plug something like 10cm into the brick. Into this a M6 bolt is tightened which expands the inside of the nylon plug like a normal rawlplug would. The bolt is tightened flush to the plasterboard. And then the...

Screw head too small for bracket?

Sounds small to me too, each Rigifix fixing is quoted to take like 100Kg or something silly though, with these screws. I guess because they go into a strong bolt and wall plug. The TV is a 55" LED TV and it is around 24Kg

Screw head too small for bracket?

Thanks for the reply John. I assume I have to use the screws that come with the Rigifix kit as the ones that come with the bracket wouldn't fit inside the Rigifix bolt. I guess I could buy a screw of the same size as the Rigifix one but with a bigger head maybe :? Cheers

Screw head too small for bracket?

Hi I have now purchased a Rigifix kit in order to mount my TV on a dry-lined wall. Problem is, the holes along the top and bottom of the bracket are larger than the head of the screw that came with the Rigifix kit. and so obviously the screw wouldn't be able to hold support the bracket...

    mounting tv on drylined wall

Thanks for you reply. So the ply would be the thickness of the gap plus plasterboard thickness? What bolts would I use to secure this to the brick wall? And how many / where on the ply would i need to secure to the wall. Then the bracket mounts onto the ply using normal wood screws? :D

Hi all I am awaiting delivery of a 55" LG LED TV. I want to wall mount it on my chimney breast, which is plasterboard over the original brick. The house is approx. 100 years old. I am considering buying Rigifix fixings. But I am not sure of best way forward. I have used the 'knocking on...

Telephone extension - dead phone line

ok thanks, I will try this. If it turns out the faceplate is the problem, seeing as BT installed it recently, would they replace it for free. I can anticipate the answer is a resounding no :p

Telephone extension - dead phone line

I had a dial tone on the phone at NTE faceplate. I removed the wires from terminals 2&5 from the extension socket. Even while they weren't twisted together and unconnected, I still had a dial tone on the phone at the NTE faceplate :S I then removed some insulation from the loose ends and...

Telephone extension - dead phone line

Yes the phone works in the test socket and the socket on the faceplate. I suppose I will have to buy a new extension socket, new faceplate, and new cable just to be sure.

Telephone extension - dead phone line

Unfortunately, I bought A "Tower" brand cable from B&Q too, which had the Blue/White, Orange/White, White/Orange, White/Blue colours. I connect Blue/White to slot 2 at both ends and White/Blue at slot 5 on both ends. Still dead extension. :S

Telephone extension - dead phone line

Hi, Please help! We had an old master socket in the hall downstairs, and one slave socket hard-wired to upstairs. After intermittent problems, the whole system went down. So BT came and identified the problem as the internal wiring. While here he replaced the master socket with the new...
