    Following comments made on this thread I got another engineer to look at the boiler. Suffice to say that is has been inspected, maintained and is now up and running. Will ensure I don't miss an annual inspection again! Thanks again.

    Thanks for the reply. I got the pcb out and have had a good look at it. There is no C17 on the board. I checked the emw site - it is a MK6 board. There is a 680uF capacitor on it, labelled c65. No sign of any damage at all. I could get a replacement from Maplin at weekend and give it a try...
