Hi All Can anybody advise me at what point is emergency lighting legally required for a multiple occupancy property example: Students sharing a 3 storey house. Is it based on number of floors, number of occupants etc ? Many thanks Mark

Hi Paul Sounds like you are on the right track. 20amp double pole is fine. I am assuming that each storage heater circuit is protected by 15 or 16 amp fuse at consumer unit. You will need 1.5mm 3 Core Buytl Flex which is rated at 16amp.

Yeah. Found quite a few faults on this one ( some rough diy) which I couldn't walk away from without sorting. Now I've calmed down I guess a Code 4 is fair comment.

Yes John D. Thats the kind of setup I have seen. However as Securespark and yourself have pointed out , am I wrongly informed that descrimination is not an issue ? Cheeers guys. Wanna clear this one in my head !!

As I understand it. You can have a main incomer switch and then two cu's. First one with 30mA RCD for all socket outlets and shower. Second Cu with 100mA RCD to cover all other circuits. No need for Type S as there is no discrimination necessary. A Dual RCD CU combines all these into on unit...

PIR on an existing installation. How can we confirm definately that all cables are routed in prescribed zones or with necessary mechanical protection when they are out of sight in the fabic of building ??? Not 100% happy ticking this box on this job. Do you guys put it down as a LIM if not...

For TT systems. Just curious if they work out any cheaper as they don't need a time delayed RCD.
