In recent weeks every time my toilet is flushed there a massive humming noise that really is very loud. Can anyone tell me what it is and how to stop it please as I think even the neighbours could hear it. :(

Yep tried all variations. Strangely one of the bolt settings is blocked off. If the the bolt could be moved to that setting, the seat could stay up.

Hello Agile. The cowboy builder who installed the toilet wasn't the problem. The original seat was fine apart from it got worn out. I bought the new seat from Homebase.

Dunno if this is the right place to post this question but.... I bought a toilet seat which fits but the seat won't stay up. I've moved the fixings as far forward as possible but still no joy. Are there different sizes that I don't know about? The toilet type is a close coupled cistern. Thanks...
