    Mapesil AC on Multikwik connector

I don't actually know if it leaks yet. It just seems strange that the Mapesil sealer peels off by rubbing it.

    Mapesil AC on Multikwik connector

Hi. Whats the difference between Mapesil AC and other Sanitary Silicone sealers? I have applied Mapesil AC to a Multikwik connector, but it peals off if you rub it. Should I use Mapei Primer FD or another Sanitary Silicone sealer? Any help is appreciated :?

    Cutting lead toilet waste pipe

That would be the best way. The trouble is I have already bought the necessary Multikwik connectors, so I am tempted to try fitting that first and if it leaks take out the lot and fit plastic. Also my flat is part of a large Victorian house and the cast iron pipe work is on a pretty big scale...

    Cutting lead toilet waste pipe

This is the view from outside. It would mean removing alot of bricks to get at it, and was told on here to cut the pipe back and use a Multikwik connector.

Thanks HERTSDRAINAGE2010, I am considering the Fernco coupling, it might be simpler than some of the other options.

40mm shower waste connector into lead pipe

It is. It didint leak at all at that part (it is in there very tight!). The leak was from the connector that stepped down the 40mm pipe to 32mm before it went into the connector on the photo.

40mm shower waste connector into lead pipe

If that is what is fitted, would this be better? as it is less likely to leak. http://www.professionalbuildingsupplies.co.uk/products/solvent-waste-white-36/32mm-solvent-weld-waste-white-tank-connector-2730.aspx

40mm shower waste connector into lead pipe

Thanks for the replies. The man at Screwfix is getting one of these in: http://www.partridgeshadleigh.co.uk/catalog/mcalpine-multifit-reducing-straight-coupling-1-12-x-1-14-p-3581.html This will allow most of the pipe work to be 40mm solvent weld, apart from this last part. I dont see...

40mm shower waste connector into lead pipe

Hi, I am trying to connect the waste pipe (40mm) from my shower tray . But it reduces to 32mm at the joint in the attached photo and has previously leaked. I have learnt that a 40mm waste pipe should not be reduced to 32mm. The connection in the photo is push fit (32mm) on the right and...

    Toilet pan connectors

Thanks Charnwood for your help. I have just remeasured the lead pipe and 88 should fit fine, it actually looks between 88- 90mm on second inspection. Also do I just push it in or shoud l I use any sealer around the seal in the lead pipe? If so which is best to use?

    Toilet pan connectors

Thanks Charnwood, The ID of the lead pipe is between 80 and 85mm, its hard to tell accurately until I take the old connector out of the pipe.
