I'm laying some porcelain paving from the rear of my house into my garden to meet an aco drain just infront of sleeper steps onto our lawn. The acp drain is set lower to accommodate a 1:60 fall. My question is how do I ensure that my paving ends up a couple mm above the top of the aco drain...

Can anyone help with this? can I just install covers on top of the old ones?

You did sorry I wasn't clear, both grub screws do the same thing? You have to adjust them equally? Anticlockwise pulls the door in and clockwise pushes it out?

I have seen various guides online of how to adjust doors but nothing specific to mine. Can anyone help. You can probably tell in the pic the door is not central in the frame and needs lifting on the left.

The piece coming up can be cut at any angle, it's just a piece I had spare. So I need two pieces to get this cut right? this is where I'm confused. I can't just bisect the current gap? Sorry I'm not great with wood and angles as you can tell! Appreciate all the help and advice though.

So 45 for the first cut, then use a bevel where the stairs stringer let's call it, runs down then drops vertically. Bisect the angle by halving it and that's the second cut?

Hi, my wife wants this architrave running up the stairs to the landing as shown in the image, they are both a torus profile. How do I make the join look neat? I have various tools including bevels etc..

The 1:80 on porcelain should be fine, no? Can't see how that can go wrong if its set by a string line. The aco would drain to a main sewer. But if its not necessary i would rather not do it

I see what you are saying, Maybe if I line it with stones that are not level with the dpc and about 40mm lower than the surface of the gully.

Why would you say it's bad practice? The issue I have is I cant get a digger in the garden in any way. digging out another 150mm will be very hard work with the tough ground and just be a big drop from the patio doors and a lot of steps up to the lawn.

Is it possible to build a patio that is level with DPC, BUT the patio separated from the house wall with a 150mm width splash strip filled with decorative stone. Various reasons for it, but is this ok.
