little to no heat in rads,,, getting desperate

Sorted thanks. I think it started with a problem with the diverter which got fixed when it was replaced. But at some point a tap near the pump got turned down which reduced the flow considerably. I swear I.checked this as one of my first actions but either I got confused or the Worcester...

little to no heat in rads,,, getting desperate

...which is why I've had a Worcester boiler man in and a plumber in. I certainty respect that there are people out there with more experience than me. But why.should this site exist if we relied only brought in unaccountable experts. Isnt that the whole point of.this site ?

little to no heat in rads,,, getting desperate

I just read this article on hot water in the expansion tank. //www.diynot.com/forums/plumbing/hot-water-going-into-the-f-and-e-tank-why.384168/ I noticed mine was steaming a little yesterday. Also fresh sediment in the bottom after I had cleaned it out.

little to no heat in rads,,, getting desperate

Hi Tony. Yes, I've had the central screw off and its running OK. Also took the head off to see impeller had gunged up but that also looked good. My local plumber thought it might be an old non return valve that had gone but I've dug around under the boards and I can't see anything that looks...

little to no heat in rads,,, getting desperate

Right, I just opened the drain and hot water came out in a nice hefty stream. Does this mean there is no blockage upstream and that there is a blockage downstream to the return to boiler pipe? This would make sense as when I touch the return pipe just before the boiler it is cold, yet the...

little to no heat in rads,,, getting desperate

Mine is a Drayton . I tried moving the side switch but didn't want to snap it off, as had happened on the old unit. But it is turning to H as soon as I change the boiler settings . Rads still not getting heat. I'm just about to undo the drain valve on the lowest rad to see if hot water...

do Drayton mid point actuators fail??

I don't have a temp sensor. I took the pump head off. Seems fine.

little to no heat in rads,,, getting desperate

  I thought that as the unit had been replaced and the symtoms remain unchanged that this made it very unlikely to be the diverter. But I will try it if you think I should. Regarding the balancing of rads and that some might be stealing heat. Im not an expert on this but...

do Drayton mid point actuators fail??

Yes . Checked pump. Plumber thinks it is ok and it makes sense as gets round the small unswitched rad in the bathroom ok. Im keeping an eye on it though as hot water is only Luke warm. I think the water outlet on the cylinder was tuned too loe. I've increased the flow a bit but if that does not...

little to no heat in rads,,, getting desperate

Dear all No heating for a week now and the wife and kids are losing sense of humour. Me too! I have no flow or v slow flowing central heating. Upstairs rads heat up v slowly and no heat downstairs. Boiler out pipe gets very hot though all the way up to and beyond the pump. I think the...

do Drayton mid point actuators fail??

Hi I replaced the diverter and looking at the Gubbins inside I see what you mean about it being unlikely to fail both ways. But the electrical switch on top was knackered so it seemed a good idea. But I still have no flow or v slow flowing central heating. Upstairs rads heat up v slowly...

do Drayton mid point actuators fail??

Fairly sure. It seems to pump water round the little bathroom rad. I can hear it. I also took off the little flat screw over the axle and it turns OK.

do Drayton mid point actuators fail??

Hi Do Drayton mid point actuators fail? Not the electrical switch. I've take that off and am tuning the tap spindle with pliers. It tuns easy a quarter turn, but No hot water seems to be getting through to either the tank or the heating system. There is one rad that seems plumbed outside...

    Honeywell ST6300A switches itself off

Hi, similar problem,,,the st6300a switch is suspect., I think. Moved house and it was handling hot water fine. The other day I tested the central heating. Now it sends out hotwater all the time. The switches are set to off and the little red indicator lights on the switch are off. But...
