Is LDPE OK for feeding remote garden taps?

Forgive me if the answer is already on this forum somewhere - I searched but couldn't find answers to my questions. Our garden is quite big (1.3 acres) so to save having to keep dragging the hose around, I want to install a few outside taps in different parts of the garden. These will be...

    Extending main earth

Excellent, thank you. I was thinking of using a smaller earth block to connect on another length of cable. I wasn't sure whether the supplier's earth had to be one continuous unbroken cable to the main earthing point.

    Extending main earth

I've tried searching but haven't found a definitive answer. We have a separate earth connector coming in from the supply and going into an earth block from where all other earths are taken. The supply cables come in through the wall to the left of the CU: As our supply comes in via overhead...

    Double-cable CU entry glands?

For some reason notifications for updates on this thread stopped being emailed to me so I didn't realise that people were replying. Sorry, I would have replied sooner if I'd realised. I think I'm going to have to drill my own cable entry holes as the NMX CU (I already have all of the RCBOs) has...

    Double-cable CU entry glands?

My other thought if not to use glands would be use these: https://www.screwfix.com/p/wylex-membrane-cable-entry-kit-10-pcs/4019p and maybe with the 25mm ones it might be possible to cut two separate slits so that I can pass two cables through one whilst maintaining IP4X. Obviously that won't...

    Double-cable CU entry glands?

:) The house is quite long (about 60ft) so each floor's ring mains are split into two, one for each end of the house, plus there's a ring for the kitchen so 5 ring mains. Similar with the lights. There's a 40A feed for a mini sub-main in the utility room (not yet installed but the feed cable...

    Double-cable CU entry glands?

I suppose I could look at that as an option, though it wouldn't look as tidy

Is this cable suitable for connecting a 4kW double-oven to a 32A supply?

Oh blimey I didn't notice that post was so old - it was showing at the top of the forum list so I assumed it was new ...

Is this cable suitable for connecting a 4kW double-oven to a 32A supply?

I'm not an electrician by trade but I would personally feel more comfortable using 6mm2 cable for this. Better to reasonably over-engineer than under-engineer in my (admittedly non-expert) view.

Is this cable suitable for connecting a 4kW double-oven to a 32A supply?

But if the OP is going to use 2.5mm T+E then they need to know to use a breaker rated at less than 32A

    Double-cable CU entry glands?

Is it possible get products like this, but with an insert that allows for two 2.5mm T+E cables? https://www.medlocks.co.uk/wiska-sprint-consumer-unit-gland-25mm-for-twin-and-earth-6mm We have 16 circuits. I want to install a Wylex NMX 16 way main switch CU (I already have all of the...

35mm 3 port zone valve with spring return?

I ended up fitting a Leengate 1.5 inch valve, as that had an internal bore of just over 30mm so shouldn't present too much of a flow restriction. Ignore the randomly positioned microbore (that's there ready for something else and will be tidied at that time). The hot water from the Aga comes...

hot water tank coil inlet furred up

This is the bit I've had to remove:

hot water tank coil inlet furred up

Judging by the number of joints and excessive solder dribbles on the pipes, I'd say it's unlikely to be a pro job.

No it's soft and crumbly and yellowish.

hot water tank coil inlet furred up

Hi, the hot inlet from the Aga to the hot water tank heater coil is furred up. Aside from the heater coil just above the Aga's burner (which may be steel, may be copper - I have no idea), there is no steel in the circuit. All of the pipework is copper, but it does also feed an aluminium...

35mm 3 port zone valve with spring return?

No worries on this - I've had this thing apart before; I just didn't know there was a film to clean off.

35mm 3 port zone valve with spring return?

Ah OK, thanks for that. I'll be turning it off soon now the weather is warmer, so I'll have a look at that some time over the summer.
