    Shower pump not working properly

In case anyone is still monitoring this thread or, more likely, anyone is seeking a solution to a similar problem, I thought I'd add how this one was finally resolved. I finally came to the conclusion that it just had to be air in the system and eventually discovered how to get rid of it...

    Shower pump not working properly

The trouble is I can hear the noise when the water is circulating under gravity with the pump switched off. Crackling may not be the best description. It is similar to the noise when water is heating up in a saucepan or kettle before it boils which is why I suspected air in the water for a long...

    Shower pump not working properly

That's what I thought initially, but I can let water run through it under gravity with the pump switched off for several minutes, but when I then switch the pump back on the problem recurs. I would have thought this would rule out any air being in it. If not, then how do I get rid of the air?

    Shower pump not working properly

I have a Grundfoss 1.5 STC shower pump which has been working fine for the last couple of years. We have recently had some plumbing work done which required disconnection of the pump, and since then, after a couple of OK showers, it no longer works properly. The hot water feed seems to be the...

    Wet carpet

Thanks John. I've lifted the carpet and a good thing too as the underlay is saturated; I had hoped there might be more resistance to water penetration. I'll dry it out properly now before attempting to refit it Howard.

    Wet carpet

We had a mini-disaster when flushing radiators. The hose slipped off the drain cock and water covered about a square metre of carpet (about 80% wool) before we stopped the flow. This was well into the flushing process so the water was clean and the carpet has dried with little or no staining...

Connecting a record player to a TV

Hi again I've just done what I should have tried at the outset and given the TV some video input by connecting up my camera. It now works fine so I can listen to my records as long as I can work out some way of maintaining a video feed. Unfortunately the camera goes into standby mode after a...

Connecting a record player to a TV

Hi everyone again In looking at the manual again I saw that there is a technical helpline which I've now contacted. The chap at the other end was very helpful and said that it should work and could only suggest there was a fault either in the input (which there isn't as it works on the other...

Connecting a record player to a TV

It's a Bush TV, model number BTVD31187S2. I'm not sure what the ECT is.

Connecting a record player to a TV

I've consulted the manual again and it makes no mention of connecting audio only devices. I've also looked through all the Setup menus but can't find anything relevant. When trying to play the record player the screen just displays a "no signal" message. I guess it requires a video input as well...

Connecting a record player to a TV

I've tried connecting a record player (which has a pre-amp built in) to the audio inputs of two televisions we have. On one it works fine, but on the other it doesn't. Is there a reason for this as I'd like to be able to listen to my records through both TVs. I'd also like the reassurance that...

    Shower pump problem

Thanks Andy. The idea of a negaitive head pump had occurred to me, but I wasn't sure whether it would work with a small positive head.

    Shower pump problem

We have had a shower installed recently and a pump was required to get a decent flow at the shower head. The pump has been installed in accordance with the manufacturers instructions (Surrey flange for the HW feed and Essex flange in the cold tank for the CW feed etc) except in one important...
