    Yes, it's stainless steel. Ach, you demonstrate a problem that can be found in a small number of tradesmen: this desire to seem like smart erses whilst avoiding answering the most simple of questions... :wink: If anyone else can offer some constructive advice, it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks for the reply. External treated ply was what I meant. The main panel is outside because... it's a secure entry system - to stop people coming into the building unannounced.

    Plaster skim failed twice so far... what's happening?

    Thanks for your reply Richard. The walls were stripped of the original wallpaper (by me) but I didn't do any other washing etc. I don't think the plasterer did either. The plaster came off clean - no paint etc. I'm sure he PVA'd immediately before the plastering but I'm not sure about...
