    Damp issues

I'd taken my dehumidifier down and it's been running over the weekend, it seems to have dried a lot of the inside wall out. They're already cleaned the drain out and shifted and cleaned everything that was up against the outside wall. I'll pop down again tomorrow for a look as I've got another...

    Damp issues

I'm hoping it was solely the blocked drain

    Damp issues

I was assuming the water and debris up against the outside wall directly behind where the damp patch inside is, was the cause. Even the mortar in the pics in that area was damp, and the mortar either side looked dry. I was hoping the dehumidifier would pull out any moisture in the walls.

    Damp issues

I went down this morning and there was a last a 1 inch deep pool around the blocked drain channel and up against the house wall along with dirt and leaves. So that was the problem all along, lack off maintenance and awareness. I've left it to them to clean it out and keep it clear. Thanks for...

Oh yes I never noticed that. I've no idea, it's an old house that previous couple lived in for decades.

    Damp issues

I think it's just a length of cable and part of a mop. She's moved in 3 years ish and no problems the previous winters. Only thing done lately is a complete new bathroom. I'll get photos tomorrow.

    Damp issues

My daughter's house has started showing damp in the hallway that's just inside the front door. She sent a picture of the outside of where the damp is showing and one out the back. Does that look like the damp proof course has been cemented over and might be giving the issues, or am I reading it...

    New wall

Neighbour had a new wall built between driveways, it goes over some sort of inspection panel so had to bridge it. Any recommendations to cover the space yet still make it accessible? Thanks

Building a dwarf wall between ours and neighbours driveways

Not a bad idea, I've asked previously but they're in their late 80s and were not interested.

Building a dwarf wall between ours and neighbours driveways

Neighbour is fine with it as they are fed up of unwanted traffic coming on their property as well, got much worse this last year for some reason. I'll get onto the solicitor we used when we purchased the property. Hopefully won't be too long or expensive. Thanks

Building a dwarf wall between ours and neighbours driveways

That would be unfortunate. I was hoping after 40 years there might be some leeway as there is with planning restrictions.

Building a dwarf wall between ours and neighbours driveways

I should have added we wanted gates at the end of the drive. Having what is in effect a double driveway off a main road, means we constantly get cars and vans driving in to turn around. Very annoying.

Building a dwarf wall between ours and neighbours driveways

Hi, I'm looking into building a dwarf wall between ours and neighbours driveways. It's not a shared drive, we've both got our own drive, its just one open tarmac driveway with a line of pavers separating the properties. I'm currently waiting for quotes to come in. My wife today in her wisdom...

    PIR swap

The one I took out was stamped T1AL250v slow blow, and that's what I ordered, is there a problem with that one?
