yes its not a heavy load, and no im sure the frost stat simply just puts power to the pump and boiler, why would a contactor be used when the load is small?

i have come accross an old heating system that has a contactor controlled by the frost stat. The problem is that the contactor now keeps sticking. i cant understand why the contactor is needed, could this be something needed for an old installation? could i do away with the contact and just...
