Zanussi lindo 100 not spinning fast

Howdy My washing machine spin program has stopped spinning fast. It seems to go through all the motions but spins quite slow, certainly not fast enough to displace water on clothes. This seems to have happened shortly after power was cut. Power was cut a few times (by different appliance...

Scud (slurry) coat on red brick wall

Cheers. I had looked it up on Google and thats the manufacturer's suggestion. The ratio of cement does seem a lot though - and with no sand??? It is a sand & cement render. I think your suggestion makes more sense. Anyone else care to chime in?

Scud (slurry) coat on red brick wall

Thanks for that lostinthelight. So it's 1 part sbr, 1 part water and 5 parts cement and apply scratch coat before slurry dries. Does this give enough time to do a 3m by 3m wall (in hot weather) or would you have to do it in sections? I've never used sbr before.

Scud (slurry) coat on red brick wall

Hi All I applied a scud coat (2:1 sand/cement) to a small portion of a red brick wall but found I could quite easily scrape it off when it had dried. Is this the correct approach when rendering red brick walls? Also, should I apply a pva/water mix first. What about bonding, would this work...

    Danfoss oil pump on burner

For anyone still watching this thread. I was talking to a plumber who looked at the pump and pointed to the 'L' on its model number and said this is a left sided pump. The pump was fitted to the right side of the burner. He was unsure if the L meant the pump should be on the left of the motor or...

    Danfoss oil pump on burner

Alright calm down. Nice of you to reply but no need for the attitude. More pressure => more resistance => heat. We see it all the time - in electrical circuits, friction systems such as brakes, clutch, gas flow etc, ever pumped up a tyre? So it's a perfectly reasonable question and no harm in...

    Danfoss oil pump on burner

Cheers John. Good to have your input. I did try the old solenoid - same result. I never let this run for more than 15 minutes as this would be foolish. This is really bugging me. It would be a good idea to get the pressure set regardless but according to oilhead it won't solve the heat issue...

    Danfoss oil pump on burner

Thanks again. Looking at the solenoid. It seems to be the first thing to heat up, especially the cap that holds it in place and after about 10 minutes it is noticeably hotter than the pump case.

    Danfoss oil pump on burner

Thanks Oilhead, I do appreciate your replies on this matter but it's not a rust issue. The pump was installed on the day (or day after) I bought it new. It heated up then and when I removed it I wrapped it in newspaper and kept it indoors.

    Danfoss oil pump on burner

The old pump doesn't work anymore. While diagnosing a problem with the burner I fitted a new pump (the problem was with the controller). Once I replaced the controller I noticed the new pump heating up so switched to the old one. Then the old pump stopped working properly a few years later.

    Danfoss oil pump on burner

Thanks folks. I've swapped over between this pump and the old one a few times in my efforts to keep the boiler going and the old one never heated up.

Thanks Oilhead. The burner is EOGB.

    Danfoss oil pump on burner

Hi all I posted a question about this before but am still curious to find out what the problem is. On my boiler burner I have an oil pump - Danfoss BFP 11 L3 - which heats up after about 10 minutes. It's about as hot as a very hot radiator, so you can touch it but not for long. It shouldn't be...

    Chimney liner

Hi I have a wood burner with a flue pipe going into a flue liner. Is there any reason not to use loft insulation (glass fibre) to fill the gap at the bottom?

    Danfoss oil pump

Yeah, there's three allen screws. I tried to turn each the same number of times as not to mis-align the pump with the motor. The motor does work when you give it a bit of a push and will work for a time before ceasing and locking the system. I wonder if that's the reason. Ta much Burnerman.

    Danfoss oil pump

Cheers Bob. Which part shouldn't be tightened too much, nozzle, oil input or pump to motor chassis? I suppose it would make sense not to tighten any of those too much.

    Danfoss oil pump

I don't know which burner it is but it's an old one I was hoping to keep going for a few months until some building work is complete when I am getting gas installed. There was black smoke coming out of the flue and I had a pump lying around so I just lobbed it in and hoped for the best (fixed...

    Danfoss oil pump

Hi I've just fitted a Danfoss oil pump on a domestic burner. The boiler seems to be working just fine but the pump seems to be overheating. Any ideas?
