    fensa

Replacement doors and windows can be fitted by FENSA registered installers without inspection by the local authority building control. If the windows/doors are fitted by someone not registered with FENSA then an application and inspections by the local authority are necessary Either way...

    fire regs

probably not everybody. Maintaining the fire resistance and sound insulation is integral to meeting the regs. so doing it properly means fitting them. As for the people who dont know about them, quite simply they should make it their business to know - particularly those who are...

    fire regs

and for desert :) the rest of the floor construction is only fire resistant for 30 minutes as thats the standard its designed to for in the average 2 storey house. The timber flooring/joists/plaster combine to provide 30 mins fire resistance - when the holes for the plaster are made the...

    switch heights

have you not told her about the light switch boogie man? If the extension matches the existing heights of the sockets/switches in the house then it would be ok. So if the existing are higher or lower stay within the existing limits set. If you had a newish house the existing...

The onus is on the person doing the work to show that it complies, so its easy to say 'i followed part p and that says follow BS7671' -...

Am I seeing things (part P related)

Hi Adam, reading your post i think there is some scope for confusion, im sure you understand that - A completion certificate for building regs is issued for all applications (new house/ extension/ rewire, etc)when completed. Its not the same as a BS7671 design install and inspect...
